Getting Lippy - Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Ayesha

Hello there lovely readers!

So after falling completely & utterly head over heals obsessed with the Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Bow & Arrow, it was inevitable that another shade would be purchased in the near future.

I absolutely love everything about this range of liquid lipsticks, the super lightweight formula, non drying smooth matte finish with zero cracking? Winning!

Getting Lippy - Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Bow N Arrow

Hey there lovely readers!

So every girl needs her Holy Grail nude lipstick in her arsenal right? When hunting for a good lip product, its not just the shade itself that's important, though of course this factors greatly, but also the formulation. Smooth application & non drying finish is a MUST for this gal with lips drier than the Sahara!

Not as easy a task as it may seem my friends, hunting for one that ticks all the boxes! After trying & testing many a lippie I'm happy to say I've finally found my HG nude & tis an offering from Kat Von D no less, one of her Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks to be precise, in the shade Bow N Arrow.

When I heard that Kat Von D was opening up a counter in Oxford Street Debenhams store, I naturally, like many other beauty obsessed humans made note to pop in & peruse at the earliest convenience!

Getting Lippie - MAC Retro Matte Liquid Lippie in Burnt Spice Review

Hey there my lovely readers!

If you follow me on Instagram (@aysh_xox) you may have noticed that amongst the usual, nail, kitty & outfit posts that make up the majority of my feed, I've recently started sharing some of my favourite lippie products as well. I figured that seeing as this is a beauty blog also, why the heck not share some of my top choices on here as well, thus mixing things up a tad in between all the nail art :)

A late starter to the lippie game, for many a year I had been a simple slick of balm & go girl as I suffer from horrendous dry lips, making lipstick wearing just a nightmare. I alone probably kept Chapstick in business. However a few years down the line after discovering the wonders of lip scrubs & moisturisers I decided enough was enough & I wouldn't let the condition of my lips deprive me on all the lippie fun!

Getting Lippy - Winter Lip Hydration with Korres & Burts Bees

Hello there my lovely readers,

Harsh weather brings with it skin in desperate need of hydration & requires us to enforce a bit more TLC to our skin & lips. For me this is pretty much a year round problem, especially dry lips. Its been a bane of my existence for a long time & also the reason why I rarely venture in to that world of lippies that is so daunting to me! Mostly a fan of tinted balms, what I look for in a good product is a light wash of colour with smooth moisturizing properties without stickiness. Two such brands who have delivered on this for me are Korres & Burts Bees with their range of lip butters & shimmers...

Starting with Korres, I've heard nothing but praise when it comes to their products so was keen to investigate for myself. When passing through my local Lloyds chemist I saw that they'd introduced a wide range of skincare & beauty products, including both Korres & Burts Bees. I noticed that there were two variations of Korres lip butter available, the well known pot form as well as a more convenient stick, so went for one of each as well as nabbing a Burts Bees Lip Shimmer in the shade Peony.

The Korres Lip Butter pot (RRP £8) I opted for was Pomegranate which has a lovely red tint & contains Shea Butter, well known for its moisturising properties including soothing chapped irritated skin. The butter is almost jelly like in formula & glides smoothly on to the lips without feeling too heavy. The shade is more pigmented in the pot however you still get a really lovely delicate wash of colour across the lips. I love the feel of this after application & keep the pot by my bedside applying as often as I can remember, however I know many are put off using balms/butters in pots, which is why I love that Korres also have the stick option as well.

Not only more compact & travel friendly, the Korres Mandarin LipButter stick (RRP £8) also contains SPF15 giving it major score points as well as including lush ingredients of Mandarin Oil, Sunflower Wax & the Shea Butter. The shade I have is Pink which again gives a lovely delicate rose tint to the lips as well as moisturizing. I found this slightly more creamier in consistency to the jelly like pot butter but equally lovely on the lips & I love using this as a base for the rare occasions when I DO wear lipstick as it glides on so smoothly over the top.

Now we have a touch of glam factor if you like with the Burts Bees LipShimmers (RRP £5.99). These moisturizing balms are divine, delivering a wash of subtle colour to the lips but with a touch of shimmer in the form of macroglitters & come in a nice selection of shades to choose from ranging from plums & reds to warmer nudes & browns.

Thankfully the macroglitter is very fine preventing the balm from looking like a discoball or feeling gritty on the lips, which wouldn't be pleasant at all. The shade I have here is Peony which is a lovely warm brown toned nude.

The lip shimmers contain Vitamin E, Beeswax, Sunflower & Coconut oils making them incredibly nourishing & have a subtle peppermint flavour which feels nice & refreshing on the lips. I love that the tube is also nicely compact & slender, making it ideal for popping into your bag or pocket when on the go.

Overall I am utterly converted to these lovely lip hydration offerings from Korres & Burts Bees, they are a joy to wear & my lips are certainly happier & in better condition. The Mandarin Lip Butter stick is also available in a colourless version if tint is not your thing, I'm keen to try a few more of the Lip Butter pots too, Jasmine and Wild Rose look dreamy as well picking up a few more adventurous shades of the Burts Bees Lip Shimmers!

You can find both Korres & Burts Bees in selected Lloyds Pharmacies as well as online via FeelUnique or LookFantastic to name a few.. its worth having a hunt around as prices vary on different sites. Thanks as always for reading!

Lotsa love to ya!

Getting Lippy - MAC Mehr Matte Lipstick Review

Hello there lovely readers!

What is this we have here? A post on...LIPSTICK Aysh?! And not just any lipstick but a MATTE one at that? *cue a thousand seizures of shock* I know its crazy isn't it? This well known lipstick-phobe seems to have turned a corner in her makeup journey clearly ;)

But yes indeed today I have a pretty lipstick to share with you beauties that has succeeded in that most difficult task of falling into the 'lip product LOVE' category of mine that previously mostly consisted of lip balms/tints & which has been getting a lot of loving of late.

The lipstick in question in none other than an offering from good old MAC whose lippies hold quite a high rep in the makeup world & understandably so. A wide range of colours & formulations to choose from, the MAC lippie stands are a makeup addicts heaven.

This pretty goes by the name of Mehr & is a dreamy, deep mauve pink/nude shade with a matte finish. I was in london with mumma bear who always loves to browse through the beauty halls, MAC in particular & whilst she was busy inquiring about her lippies I decided to let the MUA have at me with her skills & requested something a bit different.

Well Mehr is what she dug out & whacked on my lips & I can tell you it was love at first swipe. Not only does it glide on to the lips so nicely, without any patchy dryness, the colour is extremely flattering & is a shade that can be worn both daytime & evening.

Suffering from the annoying dry lips situation which is the reason why I'm put off lippies in the first place, I always prep my lips beforehand. So before applying Mehr I quickly scrub my lips with my LUSH Bubblegum lip scrub, apply a quick slick of clear balm, either Carmex or whatever I can find, then go in with the Mehr. If I have the time I do try to line the lips also beforehand to give a better finished look as alas I don't have a Jolie-esque pout!

MAC Mehr (RRP£15.50) along with the entire range of lipsticks can be found in stores & online, have you any MAC lippie favourites? Thanks for reading!

Lotsa love to ya!

Getting Lippy - Seventeen's Mirror Shine Lipstick in Shouty

Hello there my lovely readers!

Today I have another pretty lippie to share with you, a gem that has made it to much favored status with moi & is from the Mirror Shine range from Seventeen cosmetics. It was from within this range I actually first ventured towards when treading the lipstick waters & purchased two of what have now become staple lip products in my collection. I loved Bee Hive & Nudist Peach so much it was inevitable that another Mirror Shine lippie would fine its way into my life, this time in the form of the lovely Shouty....

Getting Lippy - Loreal Rouge Caresse Lipstick in Tempting Lilac

Hello there lovely readers!

Today I have a BEAUT of a lippie to share with you, Loreal's Rouge Caresse in Tempting Lilac which has become a firm favorite of mine & was actually bought to my attention by the lovely Helen from Just Nice Things. You see I was having a debate with myself on Twitter whether to purchase the much hyped Clinique Chubby Sticks but I'd heard they can be muchos drying, not to mention the hefty pricetag! Helen recommended the Rouge Caresse range of which I'd heard fab things but the shade I wanted was constantly out of stock! But again Helen kindly came to the rescue & offered to send me the shade I wanted, what a doll!

Getting Lippy - Rimmel Kate Moss Lasting Finish Lipsticks in Shades 08 & 101

Hullo there lovely readers!

Hope you've all had a wonderful bank holiday weekend of which the end is almost near! *sniffs* Can't complain though, what with a fun filled day picnic-ing & epic Nerf gun battling with friends in Hyde Park, a spot of bargain hunting at a car booty followed by delightful riverside walks in the sunshine & accompanying Mr Whippy ice cream cones its been a pretty fab bank holiday overall...& the best thing is there's another one to look forward to at the end of the month! Huzzah!

I mentioned previously that I'm taking baby steps & slowly introducing lipsticks in to my make-up more often. Yet finding them too much of a hassle I've just let them sit & gather dust. Bad Aysh. However I purchased me some Muji drawers in which to store them all in & now they are sitting there happily in my line of vision just waiting to be picked! The first few I've been playing around with of late are the Rimmel Kate Moss Lasting Finish Lipsticks, a range created for the brand by the famous model & of which I have two to share with you today!

Getting Lippy - The Body Shop Love Gloss For Lips in Tropical Pink!

Hello there lovely readers!

This particular Friday being even more glorious than usual as it also happens to be pay day! Oh that beautiful moment where you feel completely flush before the inevitable skintness that will follow after succumbing to an entire months worth of wish list lemmings...at least I can use the blog as an excuse for all make up related purchases...every time a cheeky purchase is made....& eyebrows are raised... “Its okay” I reply...“Tis for blogging purposes ya know”...saved. ;)

Even though I adore all things make up there's still one avenue in the make up world where I still do not venture much & that's lip colour, more often than not just applying quick slick of lip balm & being good to go! Not only do they scare the bejesus out of me but being a sufferer of incredibly dry lips, it just ends up being a bit of a long winded nuisance to wear lipsticks what with all the exfoliating & moisturising & preping etc. However having said all this I still somehow own a ton of lippies....How did that happen? ...*tumbleweed*

Hello lovely readers!

How’s tricks? Hope you’re all having a good week!  So judging by those predicted snow forecasts for next week (a bit late there snow mate, where were ya at Xmas?!) it doesn’t look like the weather will be brightening up any time soon! However I’m determined to keep things bright where I can & what better way than with makeup!

One such product which will help me to do so is an absolute favourite of mine & one I’ve been reaching for many a times lately…Benefits Cha Cha Tint!
