Disney Nail Art Series - Beauty and the Beast!

Hello there lovely readers!

Now this is something that I have been wanting to do on my blog for the longest time & for various reasons prolonged but now I am finally on it huzzah! As you may know about me, one of my great loves is Disney. It played a huge part in my upbringing & still to this day I love nothing more than taking a break from adulting & indulging in a Disney movie marathon, immersing myself back into that magical world. One of my best holidays was Christmas spent in Disneyland Paris 4 years ago & I am yearning to visit Florida's offering one day. So it would only make sense to channel this passion of mine through another love which is of course....nail art!

I already have a few Disney themed manicures that I cannot wait to share with you, I'll be exploring all sides of Disney, both Good and Evil in my nail art series, so this will include not only Princesses but Villains & additional characters as well, if you have any requests then please do let me know! But to start off my Disney Nail Art Series I thought I would begin with of course the main movie remake that EVERYONE is talking about at the moment....Beauty and The Beast which I went to see last Friday!

Halloween NOTD - Bat Tips!

Hello lovely readers!

Halloween nail design number two for you today witches! A little spooky twist on a French mani, instead of white tips...Black Bat Tips! With a bit of psychedelic neon action too...why not?

For my base colour I've used Angelica Hip Hop, a gorgeously vibrant neon orange/pink jelly which I picked up from Primarni yonks ago. Not entirely sure they still stock as I've not seen them since Primark expanded their own cosmetics range? But you can still find them online

I wanted my bats to stand out but you can of course use any base colour you like, yellow would've been awesome actually to achieve a cool Batman vibe to the look...but of course me being me I only realised this after...*face palm* O_O

After applying two lovely coats of Hip Hop I waited a few minutes for it to dry before grabbing my Nailbees nail art brush, my new favourite brush to use & free handed my bats using a dark purple Rimmel polish Deliciously Dark...definitely apt for Halloween.

I drew these from scratch using an image I had in my head but there's a few different quick hacks/techniques you can use to create bats, its honestly not as hard as it may seem!

One way is to apply a thick black curved line along the tip just like you would for a normal French mani, then grabbing your base colour, apply 4 semicircles along the edge on top of the black to give the appearance of the bottom of the bat wings. then just add two pointed triangles in the centre of your curve for the head & hey presto!

Finish it all with obligatory topcoat & your bat nails are good to go! I've just finished my next Halloween mani for you guys & I think this is my favourite so far, can't wait to share with you! Until then witches you can find all the Halloween mani inspo from my previous designs HERE!

Lotsa love to ya!

Halloween Nails - Stitched Hearts & Splattered Blood

Hello there lovely readers!

So the Halloween nails series continues...so far this year we've had Toxic Slime & Tombstones, Dripping Blood Tips & some Spooky Jack O Lanterns. I actually wasn't sure if I was going to blog this manicure as I couldn't decide if I liked the result or not but hey ho, here we go with it anyways! Here's something a little different with some cartoon style Stitched Hearts...

Random is my middle name & I guess this is definitely that! I was inspired by an image I recalled spotting on Pinterest yonks ago! I guess this could double as a rather dark Valentines mani too haha!
To create the design start with a white base, here I've applied one coat of Models Own White Light Hypergel.

Then use a red polish & thin nail art brush to free-hand a heart shape starting from the middle & ending at the tips. I've used Rimmel Double Decker Red. Draw the outline of your heart first before filling in.

Next outline the hearts with black, you can use a nail art pen for this but I just used some black polish & a thin nail art brush.

For the stitches, draw a thin black line down the centre of the hearts using your black polish & then add on your little stitches all the way along the line, adding a few stitches to the curved edges of your hearts too.

As an additional detail I grabbed my red polish again & sponged on some splatters of red blood on to the white parts of the nail. A little tip - I used one of those eye shadow sponge brushes that you get in palettes which are almost always never used or thrown out! Well now you know what you can use them for ;)

Finish it all off with topcoat & you're done! I hope you're enjoying the Halloween nails, let me know if you have any requests! Thanks as always for reading!

Lotsa love to ya!

Getting Lippy - Rimmel Kate Moss Lasting Finish Lipsticks in Shades 08 & 101

Hullo there lovely readers!

Hope you've all had a wonderful bank holiday weekend of which the end is almost near! *sniffs* Can't complain though, what with a fun filled day picnic-ing & epic Nerf gun battling with friends in Hyde Park, a spot of bargain hunting at a car booty followed by delightful riverside walks in the sunshine & accompanying Mr Whippy ice cream cones its been a pretty fab bank holiday overall...& the best thing is there's another one to look forward to at the end of the month! Huzzah!

I mentioned previously that I'm taking baby steps & slowly introducing lipsticks in to my make-up more often. Yet finding them too much of a hassle I've just let them sit & gather dust. Bad Aysh. However I purchased me some Muji drawers in which to store them all in & now they are sitting there happily in my line of vision just waiting to be picked! The first few I've been playing around with of late are the Rimmel Kate Moss Lasting Finish Lipsticks, a range created for the brand by the famous model & of which I have two to share with you today!
