UK Based "Coloured Contacts" Lens Review

Hey there lovely readers!

Stepping away from nails today & talking about another feature ;) As you may know I'm rather fond of changing up my eye colour every now & again with the help of good old contacts. As happy as I am with my baby browns, I also love how simply switching up your eye colour can automatically alter your look & enhance your eyes.

Being the avid wearer I am, I've blogged about a few lenses already, you can catch all my reviews HERE. Over the years I've experimented with different types, styles & shades, in particular having a certain fondness for the kawaii style Korean lenses that REALLY enhance the irises. However of late I find myself being drawn to more natural effect lenses. Both Klenspop & TTDEYE are favourite brands of mine whom I've purchased lenses from time & again.

TTDEYE Polar Lights Yellow Green Contact Lens Review

Hello there lovely readers!

Along with my nails & afternoon tea reviews, I'm sure you're familiar by now of my fondness for switching up my eye colour & rocking a coloured contact lens on occasion.

You can read all of my contact lens reviews HERE which predominantly feature the brand Klenspop, who in particular specialise in cute kawaii lenses that enhance the eyes beautifully.

As much as I adore these however, I wanted to try something a bit more different & natural looking so decided to have a browse in other places to see what I could find & stumbled across the brand TTD Eye on a friends Instagram account. The lens she wore looked so stunning yet really lovely & natural so inevitably I headed straight to the website to order me a pair which happened to be the Polar Lights Yellow Green Lens.

TTD Eye offer free worldwide shipping which is a bonus & these came to about $25 so around £20 as they were on sale at the time, double bonus!

Getting Lippie - MAC Retro Matte Liquid Lippie in Burnt Spice Review

Hey there my lovely readers!

If you follow me on Instagram (@aysh_xox) you may have noticed that amongst the usual, nail, kitty & outfit posts that make up the majority of my feed, I've recently started sharing some of my favourite lippie products as well. I figured that seeing as this is a beauty blog also, why the heck not share some of my top choices on here as well, thus mixing things up a tad in between all the nail art :)

A late starter to the lippie game, for many a year I had been a simple slick of balm & go girl as I suffer from horrendous dry lips, making lipstick wearing just a nightmare. I alone probably kept Chapstick in business. However a few years down the line after discovering the wonders of lip scrubs & moisturisers I decided enough was enough & I wouldn't let the condition of my lips deprive me on all the lippie fun!

Klenspop 4 Color Red Circle Lens Review

Hello there my lovely readers!

Currently sat snuggled up surrounded by soothing scented candles burning away with a pot of tea & supply of sweet foodstuffs...BLISS & the perfect environment to get my blog on. FYI head over to your nearest B&M beauts ASAP to drool over their divine scented candle range...so impressive & better still such BARGAINS! Managed to snap up some of the leftover Halloween specials including delicious Vanilla Pumpkin...yummo.

I'm sure you're used to by now of my fondness for switching up my eye colour on occasion, in particular with my favourite lens brand Klenspop. Well I have another pretty lens to share with you today, something a little bit different this time with the Bunny 4 Colour Red* lenses

Like the lilac lenses from my previous post HERE, I was super excited to try out a shade of lens I'd also never ventured towards before, but fret not, if the idea of red lenses immediately brings to mind "newborn vampire out of twilight" vibes, which I confess it did with me & there's nothing wrong with that as I think they look incredible, I couldn't have been more wrong about these which are in fact rather natural in look!

As usual your Klenspop lenses will arrive securely packaged in plenty of bubble wrap, in which you'll find your your lenses stored in the usual pretty packaging along with your wee tweezers and storage case.

As you can see from first look, far from being one block colour, the Bunny 4 Colour red lenses are an intriguing mixture of not just pale red, but also includes shots of blue, grey & brown thrown in to give a really unique look

Here's a wee breakdown on the lens details for you:

Diameter: 14.5mm
Graphic Diameter: 14.2mm
Basic Curve: 8.8mm
Using Period: 6 months
Water Content: 38%
Manufacturer: Lenspop

Now on to the pics! Here's a quick before pic of me with my natural eye colour, I decided to throw together an Amy Lee vibe red eyeshadow look to go with the lenses that completely had me reminiscing back to my teen years...

And here we have the Bunny 4 Colour red lenses in...

What do you think? I was so pleasantly surprised with how different yet natural the finish of these are, I absolutely love them!

The added touches of grey/blue/brown really tones down the look yet still makes the finish really eye catching. Because the red is so soft toned it almost gives a pretty pink like finish which I heart.

Happy to report these are non irratable as Klenspop lenses always are & I can comfortably wear these for the whole day with the added help of MesmerEyez Milk Eye Drops which are by far the BEST eye drops I have ever used to help prevent eyes from drying when wearing lenses.

The Bunny 4 Colour Red lenses also enlarge the eyes slightly, but not a huge amount so the finish is still quite natural. However one thing I did notice with these is that one of the lenses kept shifting positions due to my dry eyes making my eyes look a tad odd haha! But that was rectified with a bit of moisture from the eye drops. ;)

Another hit with these babies! You can find these and many more on the Klenspop website where they are not only reasonably priced but fab quality too. You can check out my other Klenspop reviews HERE.

Thanks as always for reading!

Lotsa love to ya!

Eye of Horus Liquid Metal Eyeliner!

Hello there lovely readers!

It seems my blogging mojo decided to go on a wee vacation for a while there, but hopefully she's had a nice reprieve as I'm determined to get my blog back on. And just in time for my favourite month too because yes...ALL THE HALLOWEEN EVERYTHING. I can't wait to get started on throwing together some spooky Halloween manis for you because gods know I love this time of year! Have a sneak peak at some of my designs from Halloweens past HERE for some early inspo but there'll be more to come fear not! Or be feared... ;)

Before I begin on all things ghoulish I have some other bits & bobs to share with you, I've recently come across some absolute GEM beauty treats lately & am eager to share their awesomeness with you. I feel it is my duty.

Next to nails, my HG beauty product is without a doubt eyeliner, I feel naked without it & am rarely without my armour of a cat wing flick! Lately I've enjoyed mixing it up a tad with different styles & looks. There's so many fun & fab ways to jazz up your liner & one way in which to do so is incorporate some colour. Not only do I love my eyeliner but I am a sucker for all things metallic...enter at this point...Eye of Horus Liquid Metal Eyeliners*...one word....ERMAGEEERD!

I'd heard about the brand Eye of Horus amongst the beauty grapevines but never had the opportunity to try myself, shocking really as I adore anything Egyptian themed which is clearly the inspiration behind this award winning Australian brand that is not only cruelty free but also paraben, nut & gluten free.

The Eye of Horus Liquid Metal Eyeliners come in four different shades: Alchemy Gold, Ancient Pewter, Copper Sphinx and Imperial Bronze*, which is the shade I'm sharing with you today.

I've come across many liquid eyeliners that promise a multitude of wonderful results but sadly never delivered but I am happy to tell you that the Eye of Horus Liquid Metal liners are exactly what they say on the tin...hello gorgeous, pigmented molten metal finish!

The packaging as you can see is beautifully sleek, with the brush & handle being the long coloured cap part of the liner, the length actually makes handling the brush much easier.

The nib is most important when it comes to applying eyeliner & these are not only fine pointed but sturdy as well, making applying a smooth line an absolute breeze.

The swatch here is one swipe of the liquid metal bronze goodness & I completely went into real life heart eye emoji face at the mirror like molten metallic finish...ungh just look at it *swoons*

I couldn't wait to incorporate some of this bronze goodness into a look & this is what I came up with. I decided to do a bronzed smokey eye with a double wing, using the Liquid Metal to create the extra flick as well as adding a touch of sparkle to the inner corners...

The formula is dreamy, smooth not grainy & as you can see beautifully pigmented, the colour pay off is divine, you wont find yourself having to apply layer upon layer to get an inkling of sparkle with these. And better still they will not budge once dry which is in no time at all.

I love how just incorporating a bit of pretty metal bronze into a simple wing instantly transforms your whole look to something more eye catching. There so many ways you can use this, on the upper lid, inner corners, a pop of colour along part of the lower lashline...there are actually some BEAUT looks on the Eye of Horus website that have got me all inspired to try!

Of course these would also be absolutely PERFECT for bold Arabic eye looks which I am all over...Cleopatra coming at ya...I am definitely going to enjoy creating a fun bold look worthy of the Egyptian queen.

I've come to the conclusion that I absolutely NEED the silver pewter & alchemy gold liners in my life yesterday. The Eye Of Horus Liquid Metal Liners can be found on Beauty Bay as well as Bath and Unwind for £16.50.

Thanks for reading beauts and catch up soon!

Lotsa love to ya!

Green Freshlook Colourblends Contact Lens Review

Hello there lovely readers!

I've always loved the look achieved when wearing green tinted lenses, on Asian skin-tones I think the colour is flattering, making the eyes stand out in a natural way without looking too artificial.

Recently I tried & tested out the Green Colourblends* lenses from the brand Freshlook, whom I've had experience with in the past, I remember I was a big fan of their Pure Hazel Daily Disposable lenses & used to wear them all the time for special occasions, a really lovely colour!

The Freshlook brand have a diverse range of shades to choose from, ranging from blues, greens, greys & hazels. All of these can be found & purchased online from Coloured Lenses UK who are a special online retailer for cosmetic lenses. Its good to know of a site within the UK which sells coloured lenses that you know have been tested & are safe to use! Especially if you are a tad weary about purchasing internationally.

The lenses came with an accompanying lens storage case to keep them in. As well as your standard storage case, Coloured Lenses UK also has a range of cute & quirky cases, these CAT ones caught ones eye in particular, SO adorable (spoken like a true crazy cat lady naturally)

Okey dokes folks, so to give you a clear idea of the difference here's an obligatory before shot with my natural baby browns...

And here with the Freshlook Green Colourblends in...

I absolutely LOVE the colour of these lenses, still natural but very eye catching, especially when teamed with an arabic style makeup look which I like to do on occasion, the eyes seriously pow wow! The green colour tone is subtle yet striking.

These lenses are 14.5mm in diameter & from the 3 tone shade range which gives the colour a more natural look, with a warm hazel brown  centre, blending into a pretty green outer edge. The lasting time is 1 year, so you would definitely get good usage out of these.

If you follow me on social media you'll know that recently I've been dabbling into the world of pastel hair thanks to the assistance of Black Candy Fashion wigs to help fulfill my unicorn/mermaid hair dreams as I simply cannot go down the long business of bleaching the hair! My locks will never forgive me & to be honest its far too much hard work/commitment than I can be asked with haha! Anyhoo I digress there but I recently teamed the green eyes with the lilac hair & a cat eye wing & absolutely loved it! (excuse the otherwise no make up face!)

So the green lenses gets a big high five from me. There sadly has been one little down factor with these Freshlook lenses in particular in that they made my eyes extremely dry. I mean I suffer from dry eyes anyway but I did feel like I had to reapply eye drops to keep the moisture a lot more than I would normally do.

Due to that I would say I get a good couple of hours wear of these before feeling the need to remove them, therefore I would simply keep these for evening occasions where I know I'll only have them in for a few hours, definitely not all day wear.

The Freshlook Colourblends contact lenses are available online for £16.99 pair & as mentioned before will have a longevity of about a year before discarding.

Thanks as always for reading lovelies, do you like to dabble in different eye colours?

Lotsa love to ya!

A Pop of Pretty Metallic with Absolute Shimmer Eyeliner!

Hey there lovely readers!

My love for eyeliner runs deep, its the one makeup product I simply cannot do without. Applying a cat eye flick is pretty much an essential part of my daily routine & the type of eyeliner used be it gel, liquid, pencil depends on the mood I'm in, but whichever one I do opt for its always in my obligatory black. However every so often I get the urge to divert away from the norm & input a pop of colour & if you tend to shy away from bright eyeshadow looks then the perfect way to do so is with colored liquid eyeliner such as this little pretty offering from Absolute

Founded by the same team that launched Nicka K New York, I was introduced to this brand which is available from online retailer Beauty Crowd, at a PR event not too long ago & was immediately drawn to the vibrant rainbow spectrum of shades on offer in the Absolute Shimmer Eyeliner range.

There are 12 shades to choose from ranging from matte, shimmer to glitter, the shade I have here is a beautiful, bright turquoise green which has the most lovely shimmering metallic foil like finish, seriously swoon worthy & a definite eye catcher!

The applicator that comes with the Absolute Shimmer eyeliner is foam based, if I'm honest personally I would prefer a thin brush applicator as I just find them much easier to handle for ease of application & I did have to go over this a few times to get an opaque finish. However once applied I was impressed with the colour pay off & not just that but loves...once on, this eyeliner WILL NOT BUDGE.

The Absolute Shimmer eyeliner stayed put all day & it took my super strong LUSH Ultrabland Cleanser, which I tend to dig out for removing heavier makeup, to shift it completely followed with a swiping of micellar water but as I double cleanse in the evenings (if I'm not too lazy!) anyway I didn't find this too problematic at all.

Overall I love the finish to this pretty metallic offering from Absolute which retails for a bargainous £3.95 & it successfully satisfies my need for a simple yet striking pop of colour incorporated in to the eye makeup that stays put all day. You can find the Absolute range online.

Thanks as always for reading!

Lotsa love to ya!

Witchcraftery - Join The Coven With The Rogue & Wolf...

Hi there lovely readers!

With Halloween around the corner, I thought now would be perfect to share with you beauties a jewelry range that has captured my heart of late & brought me back in touch with my darker side! As much as I love colour, I do have days where I like to embrace the darkness & become that gothic gal I remember so well again, one who was obsessed with Practical Magic, owned 456172 Henna tattoo chokers that everyone & their cat bought in bulk from Claire's (which seem to have made an epic return of late) & watched Buffy the Vampire slayer so many times that each episode could be quoted word for word. Aaah...good times. Statement accessorization played a key role as much then as it does now & that's where The Rogue & Wolf have delivered perfectly with their gorgeously gothic range...

I first came across the brand via my beloved Twitter. Once I clicked on the website to view their wares I was in pure dark gothic HEAVEN! With a wide range of chokers, rings, midi rings & earrings in unique & enchanting styles/designs to capture one within their spell, they definitely succeeded in captivating moi as my wishlist is now growing to alarming proportions!

When it came to choosing my first Rogue & Wolf pieces I opted for 'The Betray' (index finger) & 'The Hunt' (middle finger) from the Fair/Feral Collection & 'The Rune' from The Witch's Hawk Collection which I'm wearing on my ring finger. Having quite thin fingers, buying rings can always be a bit of a palava hence why midi rings are my favourite accessory as often they can work as rings on me too!

The rings are made from an interesting black polyamide plastic material, quite different from anything I've come across or own. The designs are simple yet so feminine, elegant & look stunning on, I've been asked quite a few times when wearing these eye catching beauties where I got them from.

These beautiful pieces have been getting some serious loving for sure & I am already eyeing up more to add to my collection! The Rogue & Wolf have recently released the Lunae collection which includes the most stunning pieces designed in bronze infused stainless steel with gorgeously coloured gemstones incorporated within. Just look at this amazing Draco ring that reminds me so much of the eye of Sauron...NEED!

I also want to mention that the lovely folks at The Rogue & Wolf are absolutely dolls! Not only was delivery super quick but their customer service & interaction on social media is so nice, which is another touch that really draws me to a brand! So my fellow witches if you wish to join the coven & nab yourself some truly unique & stunning statement pieces as well, you can find the range online.

Thanks as always for reading!

Lotsa love to ya!

Beauty Icon Makeup Inspiration - Cat Eye Wing Eyeliner...

Greetings to you my lovely readers!

Here's a question for you, when it comes to your makeup style, do you seek inspiration from a particular era? Be it a modern day celebrity or an iconic beauty of the past, no doubt there have been many women whose unique styles have left a mark on the beauty world. Personally, when it comes to my go to makeup look there is one thing I am usually NEVER without...cat eye winged liner. A look that was very popular with the likes of Marilyn Monroe, Bridget Bardot, Sophia Loren & many other beautiful icons of the vintage film era.

source: google images

Of course these ladies knew how to ROCK the red lip also, yet being slightly terrified of bright lips in general, I'm one of those that much prefers to focus on the eyes. Just the simple addition of a cat eye flick can transform your look, emphasizing & making the eyes stand out, a look that Bridget Bardot had down to perfection & one that I love to try to channel in my makeup.

Recreating a look similar to that which these ladies rocked so fabulously back in the day doesn't have to be a difficult task either! As long as you have in your make up arsenal the core item which has come to be one of my holy grail beauty products...Felt Tip Eyeliner.

Being a complete eyeliner addict & having tried & tested literally ALL types of eyeliner out there, gel, liquid, pencil, you name it, I am always & forever returning to my beloved felt tip eyeliners.

I've found that not only are they effortless for creating the perfect cat eye wing shape, but the pen design gives you more control, perfect if your an eyeliner newbie & not confident with it. A couple of my favourites are by Bourjois and Make Up Revolutions. Not only are they pigmented but both have great longevity. However there are many great quality ones available including offerings from MAC, Urban Decay & YSL to name but a few! All these & more can be found online in the House of Fraser Makeup Department...a makeup addicts dream!

Everyone has their own way to create their cat eye wings that they are comfortable with, of course there are numerous tutorials on YouTube with detailed steps that are very helpful. I prefer to start on the outer corner & draw my wing first before going on to the lid, finishing about halfway.

If you're not sure which direction or how far out to take the eyeliner, a little helpful tip for creating the perfect angle for your wing; simply line up your pen at an an angle from the corner of your eye, going up to the end of your eyebrow, applying a dotted line if it helps & use this as your guide.

Once drawn, you can then go back & shape it up a bit more if you wish, curving the bottom edge, defining the point etc. You know how it is ladies with getting that perfect flick!

source: google images

Once you're happy with the finished wing, you can keep it as it is for a simple low key look a'la Marilyn Monroe or you can go full on Sophia Loren & pile on more for that fully defined feline look. Just line the waterline with a gel eyeliner, my personal favourite being MAC Fluidline with its smooth formula & for added oomph factor, go in with pencil liner on top & smoke out on to the lower lid. Urban Decay 24/7 is one you can't go wrong with, super pigmented!

And there you have it! That's my simple way on how to channel the look of some of my favourite movie star divas of the vintage era. I hope you've enjoyed this wee post which I've also written as my entry for a wonderful competition that House of Fraser are running at the moment who are currently on the hunt for a Beauty Ambassador, details can all be found HERE if you're interested in applying too!

Thanks as always for reading lovelies, I would love to know who your beauty icon inspirations are!

Lotsa love to ya!
