Halloween NOTD - Stitched Skin Nails!

Hello there my lovely readers!

Time for the next Halloween mani my fellow dark ones & I think this one is my favourite of the bunch. So far this year we've had Holo Cobwebs & Bat French Tips. This time I thought I'd go down a more gory route with some Stitched Skin nails...but me being me I still managed to throw in some glitter action too haha! Can't keep magpie me from the sparkles!

I was so chuffed with how these came out & the best part is that they're probably the EASIEST of the designs so far to do! All you need is a nude/skin toned polish, a red polish, a black polish & a couple of nail art brushes.

I started with applying my base colour, here I've used this nameless Cynthia Rowley polish I picked up whilst browsing in TK Maxx. A dangerous ground for succumbing easily to many polish temptations let me tell you...

A perfect beige nude shade, its the type that would suit literally every skin tone! I applied two coats for a nice opaque finish.

Now for the stitches! Grabbing your nail art brush & red polish of choice, here I've used 17 Risky Red which was simply the first red polish my eyes just so happened to land on, start drawing on your cuts.

For this simply apply straight lines haphazardly across the nail in various directions, the beauty of it is that they don't have to be neat so don't stress about getting perfectly straight lines!

It was at this point I couldn't resist adding a touch of glitter, for my sparkle I just applied some of this pretty red glitter from PIXEL across the top of my red lines.

Now to create the stitches, grabbing a finer brush & some black polish, apply a thin black line along the middle of your cuts. Then, still using the brush & polish, apply your row of little black stitches all the way along your cuts, as many as you can fit on.

And that is it! Finish with your obligatory topcoat for that super glossy finish, or you can even mattify if you wish for a more natural skin look...actually now that I think about it this would've looked really interesting with the skin matte & the blood/cuts glossy...hmm next time! Another cheerful mani today dears, is it strange that I like to use my nails as therapy? Don't get me wrong, I go down the normal route of stuffing my face silly with sweet foodstuffs when one needs an uplifting boost but I do enjoy putting something jolly on my nails to make me smile which these did, so without further ad(H)oooo...Owl Nails! *sorry*

Easter NOTD - Cheeky Chicks!

Hello there lovely readers & Happy Easter weekend! Hope you've all made a start on the chocolate over indulging that is an absolute necessity on this holiday, I plan to feel like a complete heifer before the day is through so I'd best get started!

Now brace yourselves lovelies for the complete & utter mani fail I'm about to throw your way today you lucky things you. I wanted to squeeze in another quick Easter themed mani so literally threw this one together & it was pretty much one of those situations where once I started to realise this mani was going downhill fast, I had already reached the point of no return, there was no going back, I simply had to continue & finish. So here we go dears, some rather psychotic looking cheeky chicks...

NOTD - What A Stud!

So it would appear I've got a bit of an obsession at the moment...studs. On everything. Studs...everywhere...have at all the studs. I'm just loving them, I have a studded bag which I adore, studded leather driving gloves that are always about my person, studded shoes that come out every now & again & I thought...hmmm I fancy me some stud action on my nails...so I did.

Getting Lippy - Seventeen's Mirror Shine Lipstick in Shouty

Today I have another pretty lippie to share with you, a gem that has made it to much favored status with moi & is from the Mirror Shine range from Seventeen cosmetics. It was from within this range I actually first ventured towards when treading the lipstick waters & purchased two of what have now become staple lip products in my collection. I loved Bee Hive & Nudist Peach so much it was inevitable that another Mirror Shine lippie would fine its way into my life, this time in the form of the lovely Shouty....

The Lash Files - Seventeen Doll'd Up Mascara

Hello there lovely readers! 

Whilst popping in to Boots the other day for an emergency chocolate purchase, I decided to make use of a voucher I had offering £2 off the latest mascara from make-up brand Seventeen, Doll'd Up. It seems absolutely impossible for me to enter this place without leaving with an item of make-up in some form! But it was too good to pass up on so off I happily went with my new mascara & not forgetting the chocolate bar of course...

I've used one other mascara from Seventeen which didn't really do much for me if I'm honest but I was willing to give this latest offering a try. I absolutely love the cutesy red & black packaging of the new Doll'd Up Mascara & I’m a total sucker for prettily packaged makeups ;)
