I can't exactly recall myself WHEN these became a thing, but I do vividly remember the beauty world going completely gaga over the concept of them & I can understand why as it has become a great & more affordable way to try out numerous different brands & products all in one go!

NOTD - Fancy Faberge Egg Nails for Easter!

Gosh I've been on really bad form lately when it comes to producing new nail art for the occasion! Not only did I completely miss St Patricks Day but Easter is around the corner already & I've not done a single look! 

Blaming it entirely on the new job taking centre stage right now, but anyhoo do go have a peek at some of my previous Easter Nail Art Looks HERE, for some inspiration including cheeky bunnies & chicks galore! However if you fancy something a bit different...FANCY being the operative word here, then how about some glam Faberge Egg style nails?

NOTD - Jade Semi Precious Stone Nails

Hi there lovely readers!

I have a particular fondness for semi precious stones, not just for their magical properties of course, I always have a few lying around the place, but you can find some truly stunning rocks with beautifully intricate patterns woven within the stone which means one thing...NAIL INSPIRATION!

You've probably seen & are familiar with the Geode nail art trend that was pretty big last year, I gave it a go myself & absolutely loved it, take a peek at my step by step tutorial HERE. 

I wanted to go further & explore other stones for which I could attempt to recreate on my nails, I have a long list...Rose Quartz, Marble, Amethyst, Opal....but first I wanted to give Jade Stone nails a try & so that is what I have for you beauties today!

NOTD - Miss Etoile Teacup Inspired Nails

It may come as no surprise, being the Afternoon Tea addict I am, that I have a "thing" for pretty teacups. Its become an addiction & one that's driven the mother-ship a tad bonkers whenever I bring home yet another pretty piece of crockery to add to my collection, adding chaos to her kitchen cupboard aesthetic O_o

NOTD - Rose Gold Chrome Nails...Without Gel!

Ever since the chrome nail trend took off, its been my mission to achieve shiny sci fi mirror chrome metallics but without the hassle of gels. A few months back I reviewed the delightful Chameleon Powder, or Unicorn Powder as I prefer to call it, from Born Pretty Store, which whilst giving a super pretty shimmer duochrome finish, didn't fully satisfy my chrome needs. So the hunt continued & eventually my prayers were answered by European brand IsaDora who have released a special magic dust that 1) Not only works with regular polish but 2) Gives a metallic chrome finish...HUZZAH!

NOTD - Rose Gold God by NEXT

Whilst browsing through NEXT the other day waiting on my friend who was picking up an order, I found myself drawn like moth to flame towards the beauty section as I always like to have a peek at their perfumes. During my perusal I was delighted to notice that NEXT seem to have expanded on their cosmetics significantly with the Make Me Beautiful range including an intriguing selection of face & lip products, however me being me I was naturally drawn to the nail polish offerings of which I was happy to notice was very vast indeed & features a wide collection of mattes, shimmers, glosses & glitters. 

NOTD - Marble Stone Look Nails & Tutorial!

How have you all been? Attempting to restore some semblance of normality after spending 7 blissful days in Antalya. My friend & I stayed at the Litore resort & the holiday consisted of much sunbathing, eating, relaxing before repeating it all over every day. Much needed let me tell you & we had such an incredible time, it was definitely hard to leave! But one must get back to the normal scheme of things now & that of course includes blogging!

You may remember I went through a bit of a marbling phase recently when it comes to nail art. I love playing around with different colours not knowing what the finished result will be. However one effect that I adore is the pretty marble stone itself & one I wanted to attempt to recreate on my nails...& this was the result

What do you think? I tried to get my cracked stone lines to be as thin as possible but I think I still need to get a thinner brush! Overall though I was pretty happy with the finished look!

If you want to see how I created my marble stone effect nails then read on for a tutorial...

Start off with a white base, here I've used one coat of my trusty Models Own White Light. Normally I would apply two coats for a base however I wanted to give it a bit of an edge so I applied one coat of Ulta3 Crytallina one of my fav topcoats which adds a subtle golden luminescent glow to your polish

Now to start with the cracked lines to create that marble stone effect! I first grabbed a grey polish, Essence Rock My World. Putting a blob of polish on to some scrap paper, dip in your nail art brush & apply two or three thin wavy lines starting from the edges of the nail going in, with the line starting off slightly thicker before thinning out at the tips...

Then to define the lines a bit more, again using a thin nail art brush & now some black polish, apply some of the black along the edge of the grey lines...

Finally to give the look of jewelled marble stone, I grabbed some rose gold polish in the form of Models Own Chrome Rose & using our thin nail art brush again, applied a few delicate strokes of rose gold to my lines.

I decided to apply one last coat of Ulta3 Crystallina on top of it all to give that slightly faded finish & thats it!

I have a few ideas on techniques to try next time to help create this marble stone look even better, maybe dabbing acetone on top to help blur & blend the colours in to the white?

Also the cling film method seems to be another way to achieve a marbled look...I'm tempted to do some Jade stone effect nails next so when doing so will give some of these ways a try!

NOTD - British Blue by True Brit London

One of my favourite products to come out this year so far has got to be the delicious scented nail polish removers from True Brit London. British Blue from the Contemporary collection, is a pretty perriwinkle blue creme formula & you'll be happy to hear...this un is a one coater! Despite being a religious two coater myself what you see here is one coat alone for a delightfully opaque creamy finish.

The formula was easy to work with, applying nice & smoothly & I adore the shade of this blue which immediately reminded me of the gorgeous Wedgwood crockery that is often present at afternoon tea, very British indeed! 

I wanted to add a little something extra so continuing with the Wedgwood theme, I recall seeing a pretty cup & saucer once with a beautiful gilded gold edging around the rim.

So I reached for True Brit London Heirloom, a gorgeous rose tinted champagne metallic foil, & applied a single vertical line down the centre using a fine nail art brush before adding a couple of dots at the bottom by the cuticle. Easy peasy nail art!

NOTD - 3 Point Curve Nails!

I hope you're all having a good week so far? Eager for the weekend already, mostly because this crazy cat lady is currently parted from miss kitty/psychopath/spawn of Satan whom, if you follow me on Instagram are more than familiar with her cute comical ways. I'm currently away from home & the folks are away also so madam has been in the cat hotel where she is no doubt wondering where her the heck her owners have buggered off to...O_O 

Some super simple nail art for you today my beauts, so much so why you can even do it with your eyes closed! I was at a bit of a loss on what to name it, I always do get stuck with that I admit...I mean I'm nowhere near cool enough to use song lyrics or anything poignant like that in my post titles haha! However going by how this design is done I settled for 3 point curve nail art & simply roll with it.

Firstly though apologies for the horrendous quality pics! These were quickly snapped on my phone. I normally like to neaten my photos as much as I can & the editing platform I use (Photobucket) has been having problems, so frustrating! If you know of any good alternative to Photobucket please do share!

I was in the mood for some pastel & metallic action so decided to go for a lovely light milky pink base using Sally Hansen In The Flesh which I picked up in Poundworld. I've recently found some fab Sally Hansen polishes in that which is considered my most favoured of polish hunting grounds, so do have a looky! 

This was two coats applied, Sally Hansen formulas really are delightful, especially my experience with this range in particular. Isn't the pale, almost white pink just so scrummy? And to think it only cost a quid...high fives!

Next for the arty part, I decided to use the gorgeous Models Own Chrome Rose polish which is exactly what it says on the tin...a pretty rose tinted metallic giving a lovey rose gold finish. I have one polish which I always say EVERY girl needs in her collection & that's Models Own Pink Fizz. Trust me, you won't regret it & I'd say this one would also be a MUST HAVE, especially for my fellow rose gold lovers.

For this design simply grab a fine nail art brush, dip into your polish which you'll already have dolloped on to a piece of card/foil/paper, then glide the brush straight down the centre of the nail, starting at the cuticle & finishing at the tip. 

Then using the same brush & more polish, draw one curved line on the left from the top point by the cuticle....& then another curving to the right. And...thats it! Finish with obligatory top coat & you're done.  It actually reminds me of a birds footprint! But I don't think Crows Feet would've made a good name for this...O_o 

***EDIT*** - Thanks to the lovely @Yahyah56 suggestion on Twitter that this mani bares quite a strong resemblance to the delightful Prince Andrei's uniform from BBC's new drama War and Peace! So henceforth this manicure will be titled "War & Peace"....or "Dishy Prince From Historical Drama That Makes Girls Swoon"...either or will suffice ;)

NOTD - Vintage Afternoon Tea Nails ft True Brit London Victoria

Hows tricks? So this post is a tad (okay VERY) late in going up, work has once again pretty much taken over life, making blogging regularly hard which makes me sad! Tis my happy place after all. But with a blissfully free weekend & an extra long one at that (yay!) I can finally rectify this situation & get that mojo flowing again :)

The mani I have to share with you today features another delight from the brand True Brit London which I did for Afternoon Tea Week earlier this month & which yes I am just blogging about now *facepalm* O_o....However being such a devoted & avid fan of this most delightfully British pastime, one week is simply not enough for moi & is definitely a tradition that should be celebrated & actioned as often as possible all year round! So in honour of that here are some Vintage Afternoon Tea inspired nails...

First of all...HOW did it take me so long to try foil french tips?! I am so in love with this slight alteration on a traditional french manicure but more on those later...Lets start with the gorgeous nude base colour of the mani shall we, courtesy of True Brit London's Victoria* from the Classic collection.

Victoria is one of those perfect 'my nails but better' shades. A gorgeous, milky, natural nude, it glides onto the nail beautifully creating a tres chic & sophisticated look. This was two coats applied for a lovely opaque finish.

Once completely dry I decided to add some french tips with a twist. Instead of the usual white I opted for the pretty champagne rose gold goodness that is True Brit London's Heirloom. Using some french mani guides, I painted the tips before removing the guides whilst polish was still wet. I am truly adoring foil french tips & can't wait to try with some pastel shades!

For my accent nail I couldn't resist adding a wee delicate teacup, it is an afternoon tea inspired mani after all! Using a thin brush I free handed the cup & saucer using white polish, a bit of Heirloom for detail & brown polish for my tea blend of choice! I'm partial to a spot of Darjeeling myself, whats your favourite blend?

Finishing it all of course with a nice coat of True Brit London Gloss Topcoat & that's it! Nails suitably ready to partake in some sophisticated tea & cake action!

NOTD - Heirlom by True Brit London

So the time has come to share with you the final polish from the brand True Brit London! I hope you've been enjoying these shades as much as I've had swatching them! As mentioned, its definitely a case of saving the best till last as this one is pretty special. Without further ado, here is the simply divine Heirloom from the Luxury Collection...

Luxurious indeed *swooooooons* what did I tell you? Its a stunner right? And being a huge fan of pretty much EVERYTHING rose gold this is definitely a winner for moi & a must have shade for my fellow rose gold lovers! 

Heirloom is another beautiful metallic foil like Knightsbridge, however this little gem has the loveliest delicate Rose Gold hue running through it, resulting in a truly elegant looking manicure. The pretty pink champagne like shade is one that would suit all skin tones.

Application was lovely over the Caviar Base Coat & you could actually get away with just one coat, however you know me! Two coats left a gorgeously opaque mirror like finish. 

I can never resist adding a little something extra to my mani's but didn't want to draw the focus away from the Rose Gold prettiness, so applied a sparkly teardrop gem to the ring finger from Charlie's Nail Art store, isn't it lovely? With just the right amount of sparkle to satisfy my magpie tendencies, it adds a lovely touch of 3D glamour to a mani, j'adore!

With foils, you can normally forgo the topcoat, but for longevity I like to apply it anyway. Plus the True Brit London Gloss Topcoat is a thick formula, making it perfect for sticking on gems & charms! You do need to be patient with this topcoat & let it dry fully before carrying out your day to day activities!

So there you have it! Four delightful offerings from True Brit London; Cream Tea, Knightsbridge, Lady Penelope & Heirloom. Overall I thinks its obvious my thoughts on this new brand to hit the nail polish world. Not only am I impressed with the quality of the polishes, but I simply love the innovative & quintessentially British themes incorporated within the collections making it a unique, fun & interesting range. I do love a pretty bottle too so packaging gets a big thumbs up!

NOTD - Eye See You!

Hello there lovely readers!

Yesterday was a beaut of a day & twas spent doing one of my most favourite things...afternoon tea! I whisked my bestie off to The Royal Berkshire Hotel in Ascot as a little birthday treat for her & enjoyed a delightful afternoon of tea drinking, cake eating, wildlife watching in the beautiful grounds of the hotel & all round relaxing by the glorious fireplace. Bliss.

Later on whilst browsing in town we sought refuge in Miss Selfridge from that insane rainstorm that occurred & I ended up leaving with yet another cheeky dress purchase...darn you weather! *shakes fist at sky* Though the dress WAS on sale & mighty puuurdy ;)

Today's nail art I have to share with you lovelies is a quirky one & inspired by a design I'd seen from the awesome WAH nails. I follow WAH on Instagram & just love their amaze designs & its my wish to one day get my nails done from one of the fab WAH gals in London! Whilst browsing through Instagram the other day I saw this ace Eye design & just had to give it a try!
