Hey there lovely readers,
So countdown is in motion for the final season of Game of Thrones...who else is excited?! I'm sure it comes as no surprise that yours truly is a fan. I am in equal parts over the moon excited for the new season but also devastated that it will all be coming to an end soon! How will we cope?!
In honour of the occasion & also because Easter just happens to be around the corner, I thought it apt to recreate some Dragon Eggs nails using a very special polish!

A England "A Symphony In Green and Gold" and "Peaseblossom A Fairy" Polishes
Today I wanted to share two beautiful new additions to my polish collection from one of my all time favourite brands...A-England
A-England is an indie polish creation by the lovely Adina & the collections within her range seek inspiration from English history & myths...thus appealing to my aesthetic completely. Not only are the polishes themselves stunning with faultless formulas but the stories behind the collections are equally intriguing & magical. Collections such as "Tudoresque", which is dedicated to King Henry VIII & his 6 wives. "The Legend", which touches on the story of St George & the dragon and "To Emily Bronte", a collection inspired by the gothic novel Wuthering Heights...these are just a few of the magical collections...can you see why I am besotted?

NOTD - Sharp Galactic Nails!
Hello there lovely readers!
You may recall a while back I blogged about the stunningly pretty Chameleon flakies from Beauty Big Bangs that give a magical dragon skin finish to your nails when applied over polish. If not then go have a peek at its prettiness HERE.
Needless to say I became completely obsessed with the stuff & next created a Dragon Egg nail design using another shade of Chameleon Flakies, 4A, which were perfect for the finished look I wanted to achieve. I also did a step by step tutorial on this look as well which you can check out in detail HERE f you want to have a go at recreating yourself!.

NOTD - Falling Feathers!
Hi there lovely readers!
Hope
you are all well & had a good Halloween & Bonfire Night! I had
so much fun putting together this years Halloween themed nail art, I
hope you enjoyed them too! But, as sad as it makes me, tis time to close
the door on the spookiness (for now!) However tis not quite December
yet (seriously though, WHERE has this year gone?!) so before we get
stuck in with all things FESTIVE, that still gives me November to
squeeze in some other manicures, including a few fall themed designs,
as it is my favourite time of year after all!

NOTD - Dragon Egg Nails plus Step by Step Tutorial!
Hello there lovely readers!
Taking a wee reprieve from Halloween Nail Art for the moment (not for long though!) as I really wanted to share this mani with you!
You may remember the stunning Chameleon Flakies I reviewed a few posts back from Beauty Big Bang? These little pots of wonderfully magical flakes transform an ordinary polish into a stunningly ethereal multichrome flakie finish.

You may remember the stunning Chameleon Flakies I reviewed a few posts back from Beauty Big Bang? These little pots of wonderfully magical flakes transform an ordinary polish into a stunningly ethereal multichrome flakie finish.
Each shade has a different colour shift effect, the J2443-3A flakies, when applied over a dark polish, gave a stunning purple to green colour shift, have a peek at my post HERE to see how pretty it is. Well naturally I was eager to see how the other shade I picked J2443-4A would fare so couldn't wait to give it a try & this time, keeping in with the dragon theme I decided to use it as the perfect base to create me some Dragon Egg Nails!

NOTD - Dragon Skin Nails with Beauty Big Bang Flakies
Hello there lovely readers!
I always love discovering new nail art supply stores & recently Beauty Big Bang came upon my radar thanks to one of my favourite nail artists on Instagram (@hanninator) She reviewed some utterly STUNNING flakies that I knew immediately upon seeing that I simply had to try!
Even though I adore ALL nail polish, there's just something about flakies that gives me palpatations & these sure did that! The Beauty Big Bang Chameleon Flakes come in wee pots of 0.2g in a range of colour/finishes, even though they all look similar in the pot, once applied over a dark polish they transform your nails into the most magical multichrome flakie finish that immediately brings dragon scales to my mind, isn't it just stunning?

Disney Nail Art Series - Maleficent
Hey
there lovely readers!
So
I felt it was about time to add another manicure into my Disney NailArt Series that I've started here on my blog.
So
far I've thrown together some Beauty and The Beast nails & a
suitably fairy-tale perriwinkle blue Cinderella themed design as
well. I thought the time had come to switch things up a tad &
give one of the glorious villain diva's a turn in the nail art
stakes.
Alongside
the Disney princesses there are also some utterly fabulous goddesses
in Disney playing the role of villain whom you can't help but love &
I look forward to experimenting & creating something fun for them
too!
The
first Disney villain I wanted to rustle up something for is one of my
favourites Maleficent. Of course Sleeping Beauty is a vintage classic
when it comes to Disney & a firm favourite of mine, but I also
loved the live action adaptation retelling this intriguing villains
story in a really wonderful way with Angelina Jolie in the lead
role.

NOTD - Wicked Inspired Nails Tutorial!
Hey
there my lovely readers!
If
you caught my last post where I reviewed the Mitty Burns Peel Off Tape Barriers for easy nail art clean up, you'll remember how we left
things...with a neon gradient nail base of yellow & green that
was begging for some nail art action...
Well
I had me some plans for this base & in particular with this
colour combo especially. I recently went on a little London adventure
with my dearest chum which saw us popping by the Apollo Theatre to
finally watch the award winning show Wicked which (no pun intended) we absolutely
loved. Honestly we must've been the last humans on earth NOT to have
seen it & I'm glad to finally tick it off my list.

NOTD - Chameleon Chrome Nails with Magical Unicorn Dust!
Hi
there lovely readers!
Now
I'm sure that you've all seen by now the chrome nail trend that looks
like your rocking molten metal on the talons & is the current
obsession in the nail world. Seeing these stunning mirror finish
metallic sci fi nails on my Insta feed has me itching to get in on
some of that shiny action!
My
only dilemma has been that the majority of chrome powders I've
come across work with UV Gel polish only. I do own a UV lamp, but the
idea of using gel polishes, for me & I'm sure others, is just a
bit much, especially seeing as I chop & change my nails so often.
Though for this there is also a solution, that being using a peel off
basecoat...this way I could easily remove said gel polish after a few
days if I wish.
But
for now, like Indiana Jones hunting for the Holy Grail, I've been
searching for a chrome powder that works on regular polish & I've
just ordered one which I think may be exactly what I've been hunting
for....but until then I thought I'd share with you a lovely &
very budget friendly alternative you can get to achieve a futuristic
finish to you nails & is courtesy of Born Pretty Store.

Disney Nail Art Series - Beauty and the Beast!
Hello
there lovely readers!
Now
this is something that I have been wanting to do on my blog for the
longest time & for various reasons prolonged but now I am finally
on it huzzah! As you may know about me, one of my great loves is
Disney. It played a huge part in my upbringing & still to this
day I love nothing more than taking a break from adulting &
indulging in a Disney movie marathon, immersing myself back into that
magical world. One of my best holidays was Christmas spent in
Disneyland Paris 4 years ago & I am yearning to visit
Florida's offering one day. So it would only make sense to channel
this passion of mine through another love which is of course....nail
art!
I
already have a few Disney themed manicures that I cannot wait to
share with you, I'll be exploring all sides of Disney, both Good and
Evil in my nail art series, so this will include not only Princesses
but Villains & additional characters as well, if you have any
requests then please do let me know! But to start off my Disney Nail
Art Series I thought I would begin with of course the main movie
remake that EVERYONE is talking about at the moment....Beauty and The
Beast which I went to see last Friday!

Huntsman Winters War - Snow Queen Freya Inspired Nails!
Hey
lovely readers!
After
watching the Huntsman Winters War movie recently I was inspired to
create some nail art after the two stunning, if a wee bit evil/bat
shit crazy/mad, queens of the film portrayed by the gorgeous
creatures Charlize Theron & Emily Blunt.
My
previous post was what I came up with for Charlize's Evil Queen Ravenna & featured lots of dark gothic gold vibes. This time I
used Freya's frosty magic as inspo to create an icy manicure suitable
for the snow queen & this is what I came up with...
I
knew a foil was required for this mani to get the look I wanted &
I couldn't have found a more perfect one than this offering from
Stargazer. When I picked this up at a beauty expo I actually had no
idea what the colour would be as the bottle is a completely opaque
silver like a mirror, why you can even see my reflection...*waves*
But I threw caution to the winds & to my utter delight I
discovered 233 to be an absolutely stunning silvery blue metallic
foil! LOVE IT.
I
do love foils, if not for their stunning mirror-y finish then
definitely for their speedy drying time! This is two coats which
applied nice & smoothly without streaking & dried super
quick!
For
the nail art I decided to actually keep things a bit simple & low
key for once (GASP!) but I thought it suitable as Snow Queen Freya's demeanor is as cool & composed as Ravenna's is over the top mad.
I
reached for some pretty ice blue silver square & round studs
which I applied in a cross pattern on top of the foil, with the
square in the centre, surrounded by four round studs, which added a nice medieval vibe to it that I love as its an era very in tune with
the film.
Seal
with a thick coat of topcoat to secure the studs & Freya's
metallic frosty mani is done!
Thanks
for reading! I'm trying to find some beautiful nail claw jewelery
similar to the ones worn by the Queens in the film, hopefully Etsy? I
think I may have found my seller...click on THIS link if you dare,
you will want ALL THE GOTHIC NAIL BLING! I predict a cheeky haul in the very near future...
Lotsa love to ya!

Huntsman Winters War - Evil Queen Ravenna Inspired Nails!
Hey
lovely readers!
I
finally watched the new Huntsman Winters War film recently which went
down a treat! I thoroughly enjoyed the first film, Kristen Stewart's
awful performance aside, the combination of Chris Hemsworth &
Charlize Theron's fantastically crazy Evil Queen was divine &
knowing that Emily Blunt was present portraying Freya the Snow Queen
in this film, I simply I couldn't miss it & it didn't disappoint
:)
I
knew when looking at the promos prior to release that I had to
attempt a mani inspired by each of the queens, Ravenna with her dark
gothic gold and Freya with her icy silver was just screaming nail
inspiration to me! So lets start things off with the Evil Queen
Ravenna...
Unfortunately
I did this mani in the evening by which time all decent lighting was
lost therefore I had to wait the next morning to snap pics! Because
of this it wasn't as neat as the day before, having lost a few shards
& a bit of lifting! But I'm rolling with it anyhoos ;)
I
started with two coats of this Revlon polish Enthrall, quite fitting
actually, which I actually only picked up last week after spotting it
in Poundland! The dark olive/black with a stunning golden shimmer
running through immediately made me think of Ravenna. So gothic-ly
pretty!
Its
a bit difficult to see but I added a few sharp downwards streaks of
black polish from the cuticles using a thin nail art brush &
black polish.
I
then used some pretty gold flakes I picked up from Born Pretty Store,
using a wet brush to help pick up the shards of gold, I just placed a
few pieces on top of the black streaks by the cuticle edge of the
nail also.
Whilst
doing a recent Born Pretty Haul (FYI you can use my code TRUW10 for
10% off your order) I couldn't resist picking up a few spike nail art
charms too! This I added on to my ring finger as an accent using a
bit of topcoat to help secure it down.
Finish
with a thick coat of topcoat & thats it! A dark gothic gold (&
perhaps slightly dangerous) manicure suitable for any Evil Queen! You
may need to add a good few topcoats to keep those gold flakes in
place!
Thanks
as always for reading! Stay tuned for a frosty themed mani for
Freya...
Lotsa love to ya!

Magical Sweet Treats from Fairy Tale Gourmet!
Hi
there my lovely readers,
I'm
excited to be sharing today's post with you as it contains a
combination of two of my favorite things in life (other than nail
polish)....sweet treats & fairy tale magic! Allow me to introduce
you to the wonders of Fairy Tale Gourmet, an online confectioners I
stumbled across on my Twitter travels & upon finding, have
discovered a whole new world of magical sweet delights.
Fairy Tale Gourmet is a London based company & masters in creating mouth
watering confectionery using classic fairy tale themes as
inspiration, Snow White, Goldilocks & Alice in Wonderland to name
a few. One dessert that they are famed for in particular is their
award winning cake filled chocolates...that's right...CAKE...inside
CHOCOLATE...I was sold before even browsing the wares. However once I
did indeed do that, I literally went in to real life heart eye emoji
mode. Wonderfully, luck was on my side & I was fortunate to
actually win one of their twitter competitions, the prize being the
Tiny Pieces White Rabbit Gift box containing 12 'Tiny Pieces of
Wonderland' cake filled chocolates, which I could not wait to try!
The
White Rabbit gift box arrived securely packaged in bubble wrap to
protect the treasures within, but not for long, so eager was I to get
to the treats inside! Once unwrapped you'll find a pretty ribbon-ed
gift box (miss kitty was happy!) lined with a sumptuous white faux
fur lining, giving the gift a truly luxurious feel & nestled
within the bed of soft fur are 12 of your individually wrapped cake
filled chocolates.
The
decadent chocolate encased cakes come in a mixed selection of white,
milk & dark Belgian chocolate, however you can opt to go for just
one type if you're not a fan of all three. Moving on to the
individual pieces, boy are you in for a treat, these specially
created desserts with fun flavored fillings each sounding as mouth
watering as the last, you won't know where to start!
It
was a difficult task to be sure but for the sake of research I made
my way through the 'Tiny Pieces of Wonderland' sampling each of the
different flavours & I have to confess...there was not ONE I did
not like. I don't know about you, but when consuming chocolate
desserts/confectionery you can often find them to be overly sweet &
after indulging in a few, immediately wish you could turn back time &
rid yourself of that sickly 'overdone it' feeling. Not the case with
these at all. A very good or very bad thing depending on how you look
at it! ;)
The
chocolate coating is the perfect thickness to bite into, cracking
& melting on the tongue delightfully before revealing the
scrumptious filling of moist sponge. Depending on the flavour you
will either find a deliciously rich chocolate brownie sponge within or my personal favourite, the delicately sweet honey cake.
Each
Tiny Piece of Wonderland is unique in flavour, you are bound to find
something to your taste or if you're like me then just completely
adore them all! Here's a wee rundown of the treats you will come
across within this giftbox:
Caramel
Craze - Milk chocolate coating & caramel studded brownie
Fancy
Fudge - Dark chocolate coating, sweet honey cake & oozing caramel
Fruity
Rhapsody - Dark chocolate coating and raspberry brownie
Sour
Kick - Milk chocolate coating, honey cake & apricot compote (oh
my god SO GOOD!)
Chunky
Nutter - Milk chocolate coating & brownie with white choc chunks
& pecans
Marsh
Rush - Milk chocolate coating, honey cake & creamy marshmallow
(another favourite!)
Lazy
Rabbit - Milk chocolate coating, honey cake & Baileys ganache with
walnuts
Nutty
Delay - White chocolate coating, honey cake, praline & hazelnuts
Peanut
Bunny - Milk chocolate coating, honey cake & crunchy peanut
butter
Mallow
Mania - White chocolate coating & marshmallow brownie
Looney
Rasberry - White chocolate coating & red berries brownie
Salty
Insanity - Dark chocolate coating & sea salted caramel brownie
*passes tissue to attend the inevitable drooling*...Pretty beautiful sounding selection am I right? It was hard but I managed to sample all of the delights, each one such a heavenly experience on the tastebuds. My personal favourites were the Marsh Rush containing smooth sweet marshmallow & the Sour Kick, with its lovely combination of sweet honey cake & tangy compote...AMAZING.
The
Tiny Pieces White Rabbit gift box is priced £34.95 with all the
treats freshly made on order. All of the range is suitable for
vegetarians but a few will contain traces of nuts so do be aware. The
whole concept of Fairy Tale Gourmet is just magical to me, indulging &
satisfying both my love of fairy-tales & sweet goodness with its
quirky uniqueness & supreme quality. You know your sampling
something special.
I
think these would make such a wonderful gift for someone this Xmas or
any occasion, I know I would be over the moon to be on the receiving
end! Go have a gander of their website & see what other magical
delights they have to offer, you won't regret it!
Thanks
as always for reading!
Lotsa
love to ya!
*Disclaimer
- please note as mentioned I won the gift box in a competition &
was under NO obligation to blog about it, I have only chosen to do so
to spread the awesomeness!*

NOTD - Unicorn Nails!
Ello ello me lovelies!
This week I've been sporting a 'dragged backwards through bush' look thanks to the glorious gale force wind we've been blessed with the past few days. I think if I actually attempt to run a brush through my hair it'll get lost forever in the forest of knots never to see the light of day again O_o Guess its updo's for the time being eh?!
If you caught my previous post on how
to use Masking Fluid as a barrier for easy nail art clean up, you'll
remember that I also shared how to do a quick & simple pretty
sponge gradient. All the details on the process can be found on that
post HERE!
The gradient created a canvas that was
begging for a bit of extra attention so twas the perfect opportunity
to test out the new DIY Nail Decals I picked up recently. The colour
combination of pastel pink & turquoise blue immediately brought
mystical unicorns to mind so I couldn't resist applying the fab
unicorn decals!
For the gradient I used Models Own
Hypergels in Pink Veneer & Turquoise Gloss applied over a white
base, I love this combo! I think I may have a new found addiction to
gradients now that I know how easy they are!
For some reason I've always avoided
using nail decals, I guess I was under the impression that they were
majorly complicated to use. However I couldn't have been more wrong!
To apply the decals you simply choose
which design you wish to use, so I picked out the ten different
unicorn decals I wanted to apply & cut them out. Then doing one
nail at a time, pick up your nail decal & plop it on the surface
of a cup of water to soak for 5-10 seconds.
Once done simply lift the decal out of
the water & wait for another 5-10 seconds or so & the decal
should slide right off the backing paper, remove with the tip of your
finger & position on to the nail (polish must be dry!)
Pat the surface dry with a bit of
tissue then finish with a slick of topcoat to seal the design &
make your decal last longer. Hello magical unicorn nails!
I picked up quite a few different nail
decal sheets with funky designs from DIY Nails which I can't wait to
try out! Thanks as always for reading my beauties!
