NOTD - Poppies & Gold for Galentines!

Hey there lovely readers!

Florals you'll know if you're a regular reader, are my jam & I don't see this love going anywhere anytime soon! Speaking of love it is of course Valentines season, but moi? I'm celebrating Galentines with my gals! Today's nail art is for Galentines Day babes & features one of my favourite red polishes which was sent to me by one of my darling friends Chelle all the way from Australia! Which I thought perfect for the occasion.

NOTD - Sweetpeas and Stripes

Hello there lovely readers!

Oooh its been a while! These past few weeks have been all manners of manic with work, life & everything in between. Thankfully I managed to squeeze in a brief holiday to the Poldark lands aka Cornwall to visit one of my lovely friends plus catch some much needed time out. I could happily have stayed there forever as I adore it there muchly....who knows maybe one day.

As we seem to have been rather cheated of a summer this year (seriously Mother Nature, whats the dealio, I thought you & I had a special arrangement?) I've been resorted to creating summer vibes via other means, mostly my favourite way of course, on my nails.

It really uplifts my mood greatly when I'm wearing a pretty patterned mani & I'm an absolute sucker for florals, they soothe me so much so whenever I get a chance you can be sure I'll be rocking a floral manicure a lot of the time! My wish one day is to recreate stunning floral mani's like Follow That Way...seriously this girls skills are insane, her floral mani's are like works of art!

Disney Nail Art Series - Cinderella Fairy-tale Butterfly Wings!

Hello there my lovely readers,

Not too long ago I decided to begin a Disney Nail Art series on my blog, combing my everlasting adoration for the two passions in my life...nail art & Disney!

I started things off with this Beauty & The Beast manicure which I thought was quite a fitting way to begin the series as the new live action film had just been released.

I've, rather unexpectedly I'll admit, adored ALL the live action Disney remakes that have been made so far & if my sources are correct there are many more to come! Cinderella was one of the Disney classics that was recently remade & I absolutely loved it, not just for the glorious presence of one Richard Madden as Prince Charming & the divine Cate Blanchett whom I adore as the Evil Stepmother! Lily James as Cinderella herself was a bit meh in my opinion but I still adored the movie mostly due to its beautiful consistent message throughout the film..."Have Courage & Be Kind" A motto I think everyone should live by...

I noticed in the film that butterflies were quite prominently featured so I decided to use this as my main inspiration as well as the beautiful perriwinkle blue shade I've come to associate with Cinderella. Combining these two magical properties I ended up with this finished look...Golden Blue Butterfly Wing Cinderella nails fit for a fairytale princess...

NOTD - Golden Sands & Tropical Seas...

Hey there lovely readers,

At the moment I seem to be finding myself constantly browsing online at far off holiday destinations filled with sun, sea & sand. Clearly my mind is telling me that a wee break is in order so I'm currently working on making that happen. In the meantime however, I can still get holiday vibe satisfaction on my nails with some holo & gold nails...

Mmmm the holographic turquoise & golden shimmer combination certainly brings blue oceans & sandy beaches to mind! To begin I applied my base coat, this was just a random LA Colors one I had lying around, I wasn't expecting it to be tinted actually but hey ho! Haha!

For this mani I dug out a beautiful KIKO to channel my blue sea, this one is 401, a gorgeous turquoise blue holographic polish that shimmers so prettily just like the tropical waters of the Med.

I decided to go for a V french tip design which is created easily by simply applying two diagonal strokes of polish next to each other on the tips of your nails. It doesnt matter if this isn't super neat as you will go over the edge with the gold...

And the said soft gold reminiscent of sandy beaches was delivered perfectly by this gorgeous pale gold polish from No7 Disco Nights which also contains a little bit of pale pink sparkle, so pretty.

I grabbed my small dotting tool to apply a row of little gold dots along the inside edge of the blue before finishing in the middle of the V with a wee cross. I decided to go for a full golden nail on my pinkie as I loved the pretty pale gold so much!

To finish I added on a some oval rhinestones for added sparkle before finishing with topcoat.

Now all I need to do is gaze at my nails & I'm instantly transported to a hot destination, much needed in this current frozen climate let me tell you!

The midi rings are Topshop FYI <3 Thanks as always for reading!

Lotsa love to ya!

NOTD - Raspberry Ripple Marble Nails

Hello there lovely readers!

So after a few wee glitches, Summer seems to have finally graced us with its glorious presence & with it all its delights; picnics, beach trips, ice cream in abundance! Though I've probably gone & jinxed it right there O_o I love finding inspiration for nail art wherever I can, especially when it involves my other great love in life...FOOD.

Joyfully digging into a tub of Carte Dor Crema Di Mascarpone the other day, I managed to take a moment to pause mid shovel & admire the beautiful berry tones swirling through the delightful dessert & think "Oooh...marble effect!" So I decided to attempt a dry marble look using pink tones reminiscent to that of raspberry ripple...

I'm relatively new to the whole dry marbling thing. however it is definitely the more appealing nail art option for me compared to the daunting task of water marbling! Much easier, all you need is polishes, a quick hand & a toothpick!

Apologies for the quality of some of the pics lovelies, I did this mani in the evening & tried to capture a few of the steps of the dry marbling to show you as a kind of step by step tutorial! Hopefully it'll make sense ;)

To begin with I needed my base colour, I decided to use this adorable pink speckled polish from Ulta 3, a fab Ozzy brand that my dear pal Chelle sent over to me, which was part of their Easter collection & clearly saw them jumping on the speckled polish bandwagon! This is Bunny Bloom, an adorable pastel pink creme with both small & large black glitters.

I applied one coat of Bunny Bloom to each nail. Next is the stage where you have to start working a bit quick, so its best to do one nail at a time. After applying a second coat of Bunny Bloom, I then grabbed a random Beauty UK polish in a bright raspberry pink shade & applied two thin lines on top of the wet polish.

I then used No7 Snowflake, a (very thin!) white polish which isn't the best formula but I'm trying to be good & use it up in my nail art! I applied a line of white in between the two raspberry stripes.

Grabbing my toothpick, I quickly swirled the two colours together to create the ripple effect. The most crucial part of this step is to do the marbling with a VERY light hand, otherwise you'll risk going right through the polish to the nail bed.

Continuing until all nails are done, finish with a slick of topcoat to seal & you're done!

I decided to focus the design on the center of the nail but you can also marble the whole nail if you wish! In fact I may try that next using a different colour combo :)

I hope you liked the mani dolls, I'll try & capture (better!) the different stages as I do my nail art in the future so that I can feature some more mini step by step tutorials for you!

Thanks as always for reading!

Lotsa love to ya!

NOTD - Cute Kawaii Clouds!

Bonjour my beauts!

Can you believe we will soon be in June already? You wouldn't think so by looking out the window, I'm currently snuggled up within the confines of a fleecy jumper! Lets hope Summer, wherever she may be, decides to join us all soon.

Yesterday twas a good un, if you follow me on Twitter (@Aysh_tmb) you'll know the day was spent partaking in my favourite thing...Pampering! My lovely friend had a voucher for a spa day at The Langham Hotel followed by a delightful afternoon high tea at the Palm Court & was kind enough to take me along with her. Such an amazing experience, the whole day was simply perfect & I highly recommend you pay a visit if you can!

I thought I'd brighten up this slightly dreary weather with a nice cheerful manicure to lift the spirits! I felt a little cute Kawaii-ness was in order with a touch of pastel skittle thrown in so today I have some jolly little Kawaii Cloud nails for you! :)

Hehe what do you think? I remember seeing similar design on my IG feed a while back & I can't for the life of me remember where as I follow SO many accounts! But I remember thinking I definitely needed to try it out for myself & I just love the cutesy design!

For this mani I've used three different pastel cremes from the brand Miss Sporty. I never use to pay this brand much attention I'll be honest, but I am totally in love with their nail polishes! They have a great range of fab quality, pretty shades that are absolute steals at £1.99!

I noticed that Superdrug had an offer of three polishes for a fiver so I snapped up these three pretty creme pastels from the Clubbing Colour Range. I couldn't decide on one shade so I used all three in the mani haha!

On the thumb & little finger I applied two coats of Green Whisperer (155), on the index & ring fingers two coats of Lilac (190) & on the middle finger two coats of Lemon Drop (140) All three applied perfectly, Lemon Drops formula being slightly thicker than the others.

For my cute little Kawaii clouds I grabbed my trusty dotting tool & with some white polish, dotted on a circle of 6-7 dots on the centre of each nail before filling in the middle with more white polish. I think the pigment in the Green Whisperer polish is stronger than the others as it tinted my little Kawaii cloud a pale green!

Next for the eyes I used a lightly smaller dotting tool & No7 Duck Egg Blue, a pale pastel blue crème. To create the Kawaii look in the eyes I added two smaller white dots inside the blue using the Barry M white nail art pen.

Finally I used the Barry M nail art pen in black to create the little smiles on my cheeky clouds before adding a slick of topcoat to finish.

I hope you liked the Kawaii nails my lovelies! Thanks as always for reading. Don't forget to enter my GIVEAWAY for a chance to win the Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation I recently reviewed!

Lotsa love to ya!

OOTD & NOTD - Daisy Daisy...

Hello lovely readers!

Yesterday we were blessed with some glorious weather & ’twas spent doing one of my favourite pastimes, partaking in afternoon tea delights with much cake eating, tea drinking & catching up with my lovely blogger pals Saf & Fei who popped down to Windsor to visit. We do love our afternoon teas, we do ;)

My addiction to florals will never die & I adore the daisy print on this dress which I teamed with with my usual black tee & leggings combo as well as my fav black & cream Westwood-esque peeptoe heels.

I love finding nail-spiration wherever I can & this dress was no exception, once I saw that pretty print I thought yup, I'd like me some daisy's on my nails too...
