NOTD - "Ladybug" with Models Own Raspberry Fool

Hey there my lovely readers! Hope you’re all having a lovely weekend. So we’ve reached the end of another year, is it just me or has it totally just flown by?!?! I don’t know where the times gone!
I thought I’d squeeze in a quick NOTD as my last post of 2011 titled “Ladybug” as the red & black combo bought the cute little insects to mind even though that wasn’t my intention when doing it! :) The polish used for this mani was one of my Models Own polish’s going by the name of “Raspberry Fool” which is a lovely glossy red polish with a subtle pretty pink shimmer running through it. It really is such a gorguz shade which is why I was a bit surprised when having a browse through Models Own website & not finding it there anymore?! Then again I did purchase it quite a while back, perhaps it’s been discontinued?? *sad & baffled expression*
Anyhoos I applied 2 coats of Raspberry Fool on all me nails & whilst the 2nd coat was still wet, simply placed a coupla black beads on opposite ends of the nail, from one of my nail art wheels that I purchased from ebay, using a toothpick & some clear polish to seal them into place. Finished! :D

Aaaaah I do love me a bit o’ quick & easy nail art…….aaaaaas that is pretty much the only type I can do…..*cough* ;)
Hope ya like me lovelies! Thank you so much for stopping by & wishing a very Happy New Year to you all!

Lotsa love to ya!

What I Wore...Xmas Party OOTD! :D

Evening me lovelies! You all well? So, how many of you out there have braved the sales this past week? If so did ya grab any good finds? Myself & the mumma took ourselves to town at a leisurely hour on Boxing Day, couldn’t be done with waking up at a time no human being should ever see, thus grabbing a few extra hours within the warm confines of my duvet ;) Also I really don’t do well in crowds….at all. & I’m thinking it was a good thing seeing some of the stories I’ve heard of stampedes, people grabbing entire rails & legging it, folks being trampled on left right & centre & worse! :-/ Hmmm think I’ll pass on that joyous experience ;) But you’ll be proud of moi, didn’t go overboard this year & managed to pick up a few pretty things which I shall blog about soon!

Today’s post is the outfit I opted to wear for our work Xmas do. This year we went to a dinner & dance held at a hotel estate that’s quite local to us & where we’ve had parties before. They’re always plenty full of fun & good times, we got quite lucky in last minute booking otherwise we could’ve easily have ended up having our Xmas meal at Pizza Hut! And that would have just been depressing…. ;)
Anyhoos moving on, here’s the dress I wore...
I picked up this lovely dress from Miss Selfridge at House of Fraser after it caught my eye on a little shopping spree a few months ago. I just loved everything about it, from the gorguz cream colour to the soft chiffon-y material, big bell sleeves & of course the touch o’ bling in the form of pretty little diamanté’s. And the fact that it was half price from £50 to £25 was the icing on the cake!
The dress is actually a size 6 but the style of it hangs quite loose so I just synched it in at the waist with a gold belt. To accessorize I added the beast of a ring that my girl Vonnie sent me plus a pair of long gold drop earrings which were a gift & you can just about see in the pic. I really love them as they actually blend into the hair really nicely! :)
As usual I was running muchos late, hence the dodgy snaps. I mean this one here where I tried (very unsuccessfully) to include the shoes I wore & almost fall arse over tit in the process is just bloomin diabolical, but it’s the only one have so let’s just put it in the post for fun eh? Aforementioned shoes were a pair of black sling back stilettos with a gold heel bought from Dolcis yonks ago.
For the makeup I decided to go for a golden bronze Arabic style eye look which I’ll post about another time? Thanks for reading my lovelies! What did you all wear for your Xmas parties?

Lotsa love to ya!

NOTD - Molten Metallic Frostness & New Fav Topcoat!

Well hello there sweetpeas! Have you all had a lovely jubbly Xmas? Hope all you lovelies out there got what you wished for from old St Nick but more importantly had a wonderful time relaxing to the max & eating excessive amounts of food with all your loved ones :) I’ve only just gotten out of my food induced coma…oh it was goooooooooood ;)

Not quite ready to let go of the merriness just yet I’m still in keeping with the festive spirit ya might say with today’s NOTD. I’d been hunting for the perfect silver foil polish for absolutely aaaages, a sort of mission in life if you will, but with no luck! All the ones I’d come across where just not shimmery & well….foil like enough! Bad times. Thankfully though my prayers for the perfect silver foil where answered by my lovely friend & fairy blogsister Chelle who, sweetheart that she is, kindly sent me the absolutely gorguz “Titanium” polish from Face of Australia Molten Metallics for my birthday a while back! Thank you sweety, I absolutely LOVE it! Haha she must’ve remembered how much I drooled over it on her blog! ;)

Titanium is exactly what it says on the bottle, a gorguz molten metallic silver that delivers the blingiest desired foil like effect. Huzzah! I think you’ve probably guessed that I have a soft spot for foil like polish’s…. :-/ In this mani I wanted to up the sparkle factor to the max because…well…it’s that time o’ year…enter at this point the dazzling Deborah Lippmann “Today Was A Fairytale” for a bit o’ accent finger action! :D
Titanium’s applications was dreamy in two coats on all the fingers, though you could even get away with just one with this, I then added a coupla coats of the Lippmann on my ring finger for some festive sparkle.
To finish I applied No7 Topcoat which now has pride of place as my number 1 favourite topcoat. This stuff is seriously brilliant & the reason why I can easily do my nails last thing at night (which is pretty much the only time I can!) & NOT worry about having those dreaded duvet marked nails in the morning! By the time I’d applied a coat to my 2nd hand, the first is touch dry already. Fab! Available from Boots for around £7, I definitely recommend dolls!
Hope you liked the mani me lovelies! Are you a fan of foil polish’s? What your fav topcoat? Would love to know! As always thanks for reading!

Lotsa merry love to ya!

A Make Up Swap With A Socialite.... ;)

Greetings lovely ones! Eeeeee just one more day to go then festive freedom & food induced coma’s here I come! Seriously, I cannot wait for some total zone out time with food & family, work has been murder this week! I guess the season isn’t jolly for everyone by the looks of it! :-/ But like I said....just one more day ;)

Now, my lovely socialite Vonnie is seriously gonna laugh her bootyful caboosey off when she sees this post, as this delightful makeup swap actually took place yonks ago & I’ve only just got to posting about it!!! LOL! Was sorting through pics on the old lappy top the other day for the blog & found these lost like little divers out at sea amongst them, so here we go my gorguz girly from the other side of the pond, better late than never non??!! ;D

I’ve said it many a time on this here bloggy about how truly wonderful it’s been getting to know & on few lucky occasions meeting other bloggers. The blogging community is just awesomely lovely & I’ve been so fortunate to make some fab friends through it too :) One of the great things is also sharing the beauty love with fellow blogger girlies & participating in makeup swaps which are super fun! It’s also a great way of trying out products that aren’t easily available here & vive versa :D So whilst I sent my girl Vonnie some Sleek & Barry M goodies & other bits & bobs, here’s what the lovely lady kindly sent my way in return :) Thank you babe!
The chocs suffice it to say disappeared in record quick time ;) As well as the chocs Vonnie sent me a few NYX products I’d been dying to try as well as perfume, hair products, mineral eye shadow, bling in the form of a puuurdy ring, the ELF Shimmering Facial Whip that couldn’t have come at a more perfick time as my Benefit High Beam has gone bye bye & finally some gorguz new polish’s to play with! (she knows me well)
NYX Jumbo Eye Pencils in Milk, Black Bean & Electric Blue. I've been wanting to try these babies for a while now as I've seen them in many a tutorial being used as a base before eyeshadow to create a more heavily pigmented look. The consistency of the pencils are gorguz too, so smooth & lovely!
NYX Luscious Lip Palette in The Naturals, NYX Lip Gloss in Pink Frost & NYC Liquid Lip Shine in Sheer Ruby. Vonnie couldn't have picked a better lip palette for me as ya know how I love my nude colours! The palette is such a fab compact size as well, with a cute mirror & brush making it perfick to pop in the bag. The lip glosses are lush too, the pink one smells like fizzy cola!
NYX Purple Smokey Look Kit. A lovely looking palette with 9 eyeshadows & 2 lip colours to play around with. Looking forward to hopefully creating some successful purple smokey eye looks with this palette that WON'T make me look like Ive been punched in the face ;)
Fekkai Advanced Brilliant Glossing Cream. Oh my god, have tried this stuff & its amaze!! I'd been wanting to try Fekkai products for a while as I've heard lots of good things about them so squealed with joy to see this beauty! You literally only need a drop of it to run through your locks, either wet or dry & hello smooth, glossy tresses!
& finally some gorguz looking polish's from Wet n Wild, Rustic (metallic bronze shimmer) & Red Red (glossy red) as well as the hot looking Smokin In Havana by OPI! Expect NOTD's! :D

Thank you so much for the lovely goodies my Bonnie Vonnie! Absolutely love them all, hope you liked your bits & bobs too! ;D Sorry it took me so bloomin long to post it! ;) Haha!

Have you lovelies tried any of these products before? Or have also partook in a delightful makeup swap? :) Thanks for reading chucks!

Lotsa love to ya!

Le Disneyland Paree! *PIC HEAVY...oh & err word heavy too I guess...*

Hello hello & happy Sunday my lovelies! Are you all having a lovely weekend? What have you all been up to? Lotsa Xmassy things I expect! Myself & the matey headed on down to London town yesterday to Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park which was lovely, plus I picked up a muchos pretty ring which I can’t wait to share with you, it sparkles. We also paid our regular visit to Harrods as we both just love the place muchly, whilst also stopping at Covent Garden for lunch, where I also did a little stint as a magicians assistant...as you do.
So after many requests, as promised my dears here is the Disneyland post! I’d better warn ya beforehand…tis gonna be a big un! But oh gosh where to start! I guess the beginning would be good…so Once Upon A Time, in a place not too far far away from London….about 40 minutes or so…there lived a slightly odd, some folk may say unusual, girl who obsessed over all things Disney…*looks over shoulder….looks back* oh right, that’s me. Yup, I’m a pretty hard-core Disney fan & I’m sure I’m not alone yes?! Have lotsa lovely memories as a young un, sitting with all the fam & having many Disney movie marathons. Hey I still do so now! Whenever I’m ill, or even just having a veg out day with friends you can be sure the chances of a good ol’ Disney film being dug out are high! I just love the fact that with these movies, no matter how scary the drama gets (the part where the Evil Queen transforms in to a hag in Snow White….good lord that still scares the bejesus outta me! & that bit…..in Bambi….you KNOW which part I mean fellow Disney fans…nope the mum WASN’T on vacation like dad said… :-/) anyways I digressed a bit there, but the point was, even after all the gripping drama told in the most amazing, magical way in these films, at least you KNOW without a shadow of a doubt that you will get your happy ending at the end…& boy am I a sucker for a happy ending :D so that plus of course the addition of fun characters & wonderful songs deffo makes for a good movie experience! :D

So of course it’s been a lifelong wish of mine to go to that magical place that is Disneyland where I can just immerse myself in all things fairytale & re-capture my childhood! & twas the most wonderful two days ever, all the things everyone had told me was so true, it really is amazing! It’s almost like there’s the normal world outside, yet the moment ya step in to Disneyland you’re in a whole different magical world, where everyone is happy & smiling at each other, wishing everyone a Merry Xmas, couples, families, and friends, of all ages…the atmosphere is just fantastic.
My friend & I arrived around mid-morning Saturday via Eurostar & the park is situated right by the station. Now as eager as she & I both were to drop all belongings & go running into the place, arms wide, screaming with joy like a coupla asylum escapees, we managed to restrain ourselves as we had to go check in to our hotel first. We stayed at the Hotel Santa Fe which is a New Mexico, dessert cactus style hotel if that makes sense with a Cars theme! The hotel itself was great, lovely staff & cute themed rooms which were very clean & en suites. There’s also a petrol station right nearby so you can go stock up on drinks & snacks at not so extortionate prices!
Once we were all checked in, we dumped all our bits in our room & made our way to the park! There are shuttles buses that go back & forth from the hotel & park every 5-10 minutes so there’s never a long wait :) Once there you can go 3 ways, to the right is the park itself, straight ahead is the Walt Disney Studios & to the left is the Disney Village where all the cool eatery places, cinema & sports bars are, so seeing as we hadn’t eaten, off to the Village we went, were we had our lovely first meal of pizza & wontons at Planet Hollywood :) NOM!
With our bellies suitably filled we headed off to the park! Before entering the main park, you first go through Main Street USA, which is beautiful! The square is designed like old fashioned America, decorated very festive & the path is lined with lovely, quaint gift shops & lampposts with the stunning castle in view at the end. At certain times of the day, the lamps start flashing & snow is spurted from the rooftops so you’re caught in the middle of a lovely snowfall! So bootiful!
We spent the entire day happily exploring each of the different areas in the park, as well as of course the castle! I think Fantasyland was definitely my favourite as the design of the whole area, rides & buildings etc was just so pretty, like you were actually immersed inside a Disney movie! I felt like breaking out into song many a time…don't worry...I didn't :-/ Here's a view of FantasyLand from inside the castle :D
We also managed to catch a few parades whilst there including the night-time Fantillusion parade, where all the lights are switched off in the main park & then a procession of floats featuring all our fav Disney characters come through covered in thousands of electronically controlled lights. Pretty amaze!
For dinner that evening we decided to go all Aladdin & headed to the Agrabah Café were we had a lovely Arabic style all you can eat buffet meal. The food there was really lovely & finished with a lovely cup of sweet mint tea, defo recommend! But you do need to make reservations as with most places within the park!
On Day 2, we made sure to get up early before 8 to make most of the magic hours, which basically allows all hotel guests entry to the park 2 hours before actual opening time! Even if you are tired from your 1st day, which we were, I def recommend you do this as the park is absolutely magical at this time! As you walk in & through Main St USA, the atmosphere is so peaceful & with carols being played out loud, the place just becomes even more magical! Another plus is you basically walk on to most of the rides! Woo!
For brekkie, we went to Au Chalet de la Marionette which is a medieval affair restaurant with a buffet of pastries, cheese, meats as well as cereals, fruits, yoghurts etc. Simple yet very satisfying!
After brekkie we spent most of the day at the Studio’s where we watched the lovely Animagique show featuring old pal Donald, jumped on a few rides (MUST go on the Aerosmith Rollercoaster…that is all), popped by the Art of Disney Gallery were we both got a bit emotional when a film was played featuring lots of scenes from Disney movies….seriously, was very tear jerking & we totally did NOT get weird looks from others….*cough!* Before we left the Studios we also bumped into a coupla cheeky chipmunks, had a good old chinwag with Goofy plus a great big monster hug from Sully. We did pass Mickey, but poor chap was in a rush, must’ve been late for the next parade or something…
Our time was almost up! :( Before we left we decided to have dinner at Annettes Diner, an American Diner style restaurant complete with jukebox, booths & where the staff all wear roller-skates! Twas definitely amusing whilst waiting for our meal watching the waiters do their stuff whilst carrying trays overloaded with food! The food itself was very yummy (the terms “fatties” defo came to mind) & have to say was impressed with how quickly it arrived seeing as how busy they were! The best of course was the dessert which was an amazing crème brulee type cheesecake with caramel & cinnamon apples….*drooooools* FAB!
Definitely a great end to a most AMAZING weekend! But oh my gosh, I’ve really gone on haven’t I? Well done & thank you if ya made it to here! Lol! Hope you enjoyed reading about the trip, had such a hard time trying to cut it down to this one post & choose which of the 500 or so pics to use!! I’ll leave you with a few more happy snaps…

Hehe, I'll stop now.... ;) LOL! Hope you enjoyed & thanks again for reading my fellow princessess! :D
Lotsa fairytale love to ya!
