Starstruck with Barry M Raspberry NOTD :)

Hello there angels! Y’all good? So as you may have already guessed, another day, another polish change. This time I found myself reaching yet again for my loyal Mr Barry M, he has been good to me so he has, bless him & I do have a huge weakness for his polishes as not only is there such a wide range of simply gorguz colours to choose from, but the quality & ease of application makes them an absolute dream to use.
The colour I wanted to share with y’all today is the wonderfully vibrant Raspberry, which is a gorguz deep fuchsia pink crème polish. I’m really feeling the bright colours at the moment, guess I’m gearing up for Spring! Application was quick & easy & it took two coats to get a truly opaque finish but you could even get away with just one.
Even though the colour is lovely all by its onesie I wanted to jazz it up a little, so simply added some funky star nail stickers to each nail. Ha-ha I really am taking little baby steps with the nail art huh? But as simple as it is I loved the look of it after, it’s definitely a quick & easy fab way to make the nails more different & eye-catching. So I may have to invest in some more of those for sure! To make the polish even more uber funky, you could also apply a glitter topcoat too? Why the possibilities are endless! ;) I've certainly had my eye on lots of pretty, shiny nail blingy bits & bobs on Ebay recently, that I'm just dying to try out & get creative with. A haul is inevitable...! The polish itself is already lovely and glossy, but of course I applied an extra topcoat not just for that added sheen but also to keep the pinkies looking starry a wee bit longer. Easy peazy, lemon squeezy! :)
Do you own Barry M Raspberry? What’s your fav Barry M shade? Thanks for reading my darlings! :)

Much Love to ya!

Tweet Tweet!

Hello my loves, y'all having a good week? Just a quickie today, I've actually been on Twitter for a while now but just never got into using it as, to be honest I never really got it!! Lol! But hey, thought I'd give it another whirlsy so here's me jumping on the bandwagon! Lets see how we do this time shall we?? I recently changed my username to Aysh_tmb. Do follow me honeybees & I shall follow back :) Here to many tweets ahead! ;)

Lotsa tweet love!

A Twist of Lime…OOTD and FOTD :)

Ello ello my lovelies, hope you’re all good & well. How nice was it of the Sun to make an extremely brief appearance last week? Well clearly it’s not ready to grace us with its appearance just yet, as it has taken solace in the clouds once again & we are back to our good old British combo of wind, cold & rain. But I’m not too bothered about it today as I’m currently taking part in a total veg out fest whilst working on my pharmacy modules (& blogging!) involving warm blankets, good tv & plenty of nom nom munch stuff, so it'll be a miracle if I venture out of my room let alone the house! But after a majorly hectic week at work, plus a visit to good old London town yesterday with the matey, some zone out time is perfick! :)
Anyhoo’s despite the current bout of dreary weather we’ve been having, I thought that I would at least start ‘thinking’ Spring, seeing as the reality won’t be happening anytime soon by the looks of it & introduce a pop of colour in to my life via clothes & makeup….why not? So whilst browsing through the wardrobe, my eyes were drawn to a particularly vivid lime colored cardigan I picked up in the NEXT sale last year that hadn’t had an outing yet. The reason for this is almost certainly because of the bright shade of it, not really something I tend to go for, however I loved the design & shape of the cardi with its winged sleeves & petite buttons, hence why I grabbed it in the sales! So out it came & after dusting it off I teamed it with a black polo neck & my slouchy black velvet pants which are uber comfy & also a NEXT purchase. After throwing on a few accessories in the form of a long bead necklace & earrings I was good to go! Have to say the wearing bright lime green wasn’t quite the crisis situation I’d imagined & even received a few compliments from others, so am thinking of perhaps introducing more bright colors into my wardrobe? I did really like the outfit altogether so the cardi need not worry, it won’t be shoved to the back of the wardrobe again :-/
Seeing as I was on a roll with the bright lime cardi, I wanted to do a suitably bright makeup look with it but not too OTT & I remembered the Maxfactor Smoky Eye Effect doubled ended eye shadow pencil I received free in a gift bag, in the shade Citrus Thunder that I had yet to try out.

Like I mentioned it’s a creamy eye shadow in pencil form with two sides, Step one is applied all over the lid & Step 2 into the crease & blended out to create a quick & easy smoky eye. The Step one shade in Citrus Thunder is a lovely lime colour which looks a lot brighter than it is. I applied this all over the whole lid, then to add dimension I applied on top of it the olive green shade from the No.7 palette I also received not too long ago.
I used the 2nd color in this lovely palette
Then using the Step 2 side of the pencil which is a lovely coppery bronze color, I applied this in to the crease & just blended out with my fingers. The two colors surprisingly go quite well together I think & the copper shade stops the lime from being too bright. I’ll deffo be interested in picking up a couple more of these in other shades as they are super easy to use & apply. To finish I just applied MAC Blacktrack along the upper lash line, lined the waterline with Rimmel Exaggerate Eye Definer in Noir & added a few coats of mascara to the lashes :)
So that’s it dolls, hope you like! Must say, wearing bright colors does make ya feel a tad more cheery :)  Do you like to reach for the brighter shades in this dreary weather? If so what colors are you loving right now? Thanks for taking the time to read honeybees! Mwah!

Lotsa love & hugs!

A ‘Sweet’ Polish Swap With The Wonderful ‘Chelle!

Evening sweet peas, hope your all having a lovely weekend! What’s everyone been up to? Had to work today myself (boo!) but it was just a half day so I shouldn’t really complain. The remainder of my day has been spent doing what I excel at, which is totally chillaxing, squeezing in a quick catch up with some matey’s, plus stuffing my face with a yummy chilli cheese panini! Very eventful I’m sure you’ll agree. Oh & also whilst passing by my local library, I thought I’d pop in & see if they had a book I’d reserved in & they did! Yay! So can’t wait to get started on that as soon as, the book is ‘Room’ by Emma Donoghue which I’m gonna be reading for Gem’s fab book club. I’m so glad that she came up with this great idea for all us bloggers who have as strong a love for books, as we do for beauty/fashion & all that jazz.
Before getting started with my book however I thought I’d also use my day to catch up on blogs plus fit in a post too, as it really is hard during the week when all you wanna do once home from work is pass out in front of the box!
One thing that I’ve totally & absolutely loved since starting blogging is all the amazing girlies that I’ve gotten to know & even been lucky enough to meet these past few months! I can’t tell ya how fab it’s been getting to know y’all & just chatting away about our favourite things in life! One lovely lady is the darling Chelle from Cosmetic Cupcake, who’s blog I totally adore! Go check hers out if you don’t already. Seriously, this girl is so super talented & I absolutely love her pretty nail designs (and her! ;p) She’s also taken the time to help me out a lot lately, which I appreciate muchly, thank you darling!! So I was super-duper excited to participate in a polish swap with her lovely self very recently & here are the gorguz polishes she sent me!
L-R - Party Shoes, Lollipop Lilac, English Rose, Berry Sweet
with flash - look at the sparkles in Lollipop Lilac!
Aren’t they lovely? The brand of the polishes is Ulta3 which isn’t available here so I’m so happy to have these in my collection. Thank you so much doll, I love them all, ha-ha especially the one named ‘English Rose’ that made me smile :) English Rose is a gorguz red polish with gold/red shimmers in it that annoyingly I just couldn’t seem to capture with the camera! And the shimmer in Lollipop Lilac is so dazzling! Such an eye catching & unique shade. As for Party Shoes, it could possibly the yummiest pink I’ve ever seen :) Chelle also kindly sent me a Maybelline polish in Berry Sweet, a rich burgundy shine that looks gorg, a gal can never have too many reds in her collection, along with some yummy sweet treats! They were gobbled up in record breaking time for sure. And she didn’t even stop there! I’d mentioned my interest in fimo canes for nail art & how much I loved her designs & she only goes & sends me some to try out! So generous of ya huny! Love you! :)
I cannot wait to try all these delicious goodies out, I just love that they are so very different to anything I own, thanks again sweety! Hope you liked yours too…well the ones that made it…damn postage people :-/  Next time I'll remember the bubble wrap! ;) Well, looks like I better get on to doing some NOTDS with these babies soon! :)
Hope you’re all having an awesome weekend! Thanks for reading dolls.

Lotsa love and hugs!

Havana Glam FOTD with ‘Her name was Glowla…’

Hola mi bella chica’s!! How are y’all? Don’t really know why I’ve decided to go all Spanish on ya all of a sudden, could be that I’ve lately been spending rather too large periods of my day dreaming of warm, sunny destinations so very very far away from here…anything to get away from this dreary cold! Gyaaaadd I’m in such need of a holiday, lately all that seems to be happening in my life is work, work & more work!! Mucho fun huh?  :( ..…Ahem! OK, apologies my loves, pitiful ‘feeling sorry for oneself’ ramble over. :-/ Let’s just blame it on the time of the month shall we? The mood swings are having a whale of a time at the mo that’s for sure, jumping from one end of the scale to the other. But then that’s what chocolate was created for right?? :) For times like these.
Sighhh! There that's better......Anyhoos hope you’re all having a good week so far. So do y’all remember the lovely limited edition Benefit palette that I picked up not too long ago for a bit of a makeup fix? I promised I would do a post on it going into a bit more detail of the contents & well it seemed like an apt time considering the dullish weather we’ve been having to glam things up a little. The palette goes by the name of “Her name was Glowla” inspiration clearly being drawn from a particularly famous (if a tad annoying) song… ;)  & contains a lovely array of pretty makeup bits & bobs to create a suitably glowing look as the name would suggest, but thankfully not of the over the top variety as you would assume from a palette named after a showgirl. The colours within it are all lovely & shimmery nude-ish tones that can be used for both daytime & evening looks. Here’s what’s you get in the kit:
  • Coralista Blush – coral pink blush
  • High Beam – cool, luminescent complexion enhancer
  • Moon Beam – warm, iridescent complexion enhancer
  • Shimmering 5 colour eye shadow palette
  • Badgal Lash Mascara
  •  Life on the A List Lip Gloss - A lovely pinkish nude gloss
close up of the prettyful shadows
Now dolls I’m not really any good at this whole swatch business, but I shall do my best :) The shadows within the palette are really lovely & pigmented, the photos really don’t show this very well at all so apologies for that, but do take my word for it. I’m gonna go & blame the weather & not my photography skills… :-/ Haha! They are super soft & glide onto the lid really smoothly. I swiped my finger across the tops very lightly& the amount of shadow that came away left me very pleasantly surprised! And I really do love all the colours within it :) The great thing about this kit is that it also comes with a little booklet giving you a step by step guide on how & where to apply the makeup :)
I know...abysmal swatching right there...
hopefully this is a tad better!
Also included in the palette is the infamous Coralista Blush, which I have wanted to try for the longest time after hearing many positive reviews about it. I don't own any coral/pink shades so am really glad to have this is my collection as it looks lovely on, it really is a blush that I think will suit all skin-tones which is fab! Apply on the apples of the cheeks & up to the hairline for a flushed look as light or heavy as you want to go! The palette comes with the angled type brush that normally accompanies the Benefit blushes.

Within the palette you also get the two famous highlighters from Benefit in mini form - High Beam & Moon Beam. I love both of these complexion enhancers & use Moon Beam almost on a daily basis! I tend to reach for this one slightly more so than the other as I feel the warm tone compliments my skin tone more, but High Beam is equally gorguz. Applying on top of the cheekbones, brow bones & bridge of the nose creates a glowing radiance that really brightens up your whole face :)
Left - High Beam, Right - Moon Beam
The last two bits in the palette are the BadGal Mascara, which as mascara's go is fine. Nothing miraculous for me really, but it does the job nicely & finally a lovely lip gloss in the shade 'Life on the A List' which I absolutely looove! I'm not big on heavy lippie so this is perfect, a really pretty pinkish nude gloss perfect for everyday usage, which it has been getting!
So that's all the lovely goodies that you get within this ickle palette! I paid £29.50 in total for this which I think is really great value for money as a lot of the products included retail for around £18-£20 individually. Even though the blusher & highlighters come in mini form, a little goes a long way so they'll be lasting me a good old while. I did a quick FOTD using the palette to show you guys, although it was a bit of a rush job! I would've like to have spent more time on the eyes, but I guess this way I can show that the palette is perfect for creating a quick natural daytime look as well as glam evening looks :)
Hope you like it! I know that this lovely palette was limited edition but I think it can still be nabbed at few places, including ASOS & Debenhams websites, its worth asking at the Benefit counters as well. But I deffo do love this & it'll certainly be getting plenty of love from moi  :) Thanks for reading angels! Do you have a favourite palette? What colours are you loving on the eyes at the mo??

Lots of glowing love and snuggles!

Happy Chinese New Year Wishes With Inspired Dazzle Dust NOTD & A Few Bloggy Awards! :)

Hello there my lovelies! How’s everyone’s week been? Hope you’re all good & well & that this freezy chilly weather hasn’t been getting ya down too much! So firstly it’s Chinese New Year! A few friends of mine are celebrating & I wanted to wish those of you who also celebrate, a very happy Chinese New Year, hope you’re having a wonderful time with your friends & families.
Noticing that the prominent colours of this time are gorguz reds & golds I was suitably inspired to do a NOTD along these lines. Now I’ve wanted to try this Dazzle Dust splattered manicure for the longest time after seeing it on the lovely Sherrie’s blog & totally loving the idea of it, so I thought this was perfect for the occasion as it’s so glitzy & sparkly! Also the fact that it seemed like something even clutzy old moi could do was a plus point!

Do you like? This was my first attempt at it & am really pleased with the results. Everyone at work loved it & I confess my eyes have been drawn to them rather continuously :) So y’all are probably wondering how to achieve this fantabulous look? All you lovelies need is a base/topcoat, nail colour of your choice, a teaspoon & finally one of those little pot o’ wonders that are Barry M Dazzle Dusts in the colour of your choice.
I obviously went for a lovely glossy Red Revlon polish that is donkeys old coz it doesn’t even have any labelling on it! Another hand me down from mumma bear ;) The name on the lid is Blaze. As for the magic dust, I dug around in my ickle collection & came out with shade 96 which is a Yellow Gold. So in a nutshell sweetpeas, after you’ve done the stages of applying basecoat & 1st coat of polish, get your tools ready as you need to be a bit of a fast mover! After the 2nd coat of polish is applied, grab the end of the spoon & scoop up a little bit of dust, then sprinkle it onto the cuticle. Once this is done all you have to do is simply blow it across the nail in any direction you like! The fab thing about this look is that it doesn’t have to be super neat :) It will look messy, having dust all over your fingers as well but don’t worry, it will all be washed off after. To finish just apply a thin topcoat, wait for it to dry, then simply rinse the fingers under a warm tap & hey presto! Dazzling nails for fun times! :)  I cannot wait to try this again with ALL my dazzle dusts (of which I don’t nearly have enough!) So glad I’ve found another use for these little gems, hope you like it too & give it a go! Do let me know if you do’s!
Also I’ve been so enormously touched to have been recently tagged by the lovely ladies Leah, Ailah & Nilufar for some blogger awards! Seriously honey’s thank you so very muchly! It makes me so incredibly happy to know that you enjoy my inane ramblings, really. So thank you thank you thank you!

The lovely Leah gave me the ‘Versatile Blogger Award’ & Ailah & Nilufar ‘The Stylish Blogger Award’. Now the next step after receiving an award, (hope I do this right girlies!) is to thank the person who awarded you (done!), reveal 7 facts about yourself & pass on the award to seven other blogs  So here ya goes peaches…7 things ya didn’t know about moi….
    • I am ridiculously short…seriously...I’m talking like under 5ft petiteness ;)
    • I suffer from a very, rare glandular disorder that only a few people in the world have. This basically meant spending a lot of the childhood seeing the hospital as a 2nd home. They were hard times for sure, but hey, I got older, stronger, not to mention a wonderfully supportive & loving family & for a while, where it seemed I wouldn’t have a normal life, here I am girlfriend! And enjoying life as much as possible :)
    • Ironically, I work full-time in a pharmacy as a medicine dispenser. I know…me handling drugs?!?! Who would’ve thunk?  I do love it though & I’ll have been doing it for 3 years now

    • I am fully qualified in Travel & Tourism plus airline/CSA training…so I could’ve (or still could?) been an (albeit very short) air hostess…Tea? Coffee?
    • I am a total & utter book, movie & computer game worm/nerd. Am rarely seen without a book, love talking & watching movies plus wasting away the hours in the day in front of a computer game. Am very much into the XBOX Connect dancing game right now…have you tried it?! Awesome! Such a workout, who needs a gym! I will confess that I am a lover of the romantic novel, am trying to branch out though!
    • Umm I have a belly piercing...? my little bit of rebel-ness ;)  Next on the list…tattoo! Although, having said that, I am not a confident person at all. I’m crippingly shy with strangers & have the dreaded curse of the blusher!! A rather lovely tomato/beetroot-esque shade to be precise..

    • I dislike the herb Coriander with a passion! And growing up in an Asian household this can be considered a crime of international proportions…but everything from the smell to the taste…just urgh! I think this could be coz the mumma went off it big time when preggers with moi…?
So that’s it honey’s, revealed a bit about moi, feel like you know me a bit better? Now to pass on the awards, its going to be so very hard to choose only 7! These are blogs that are deffo on my daily read list, Not only are the blogs fab but so are the lovely ladies who write them & they deffo inspired me with my little old bloggy! So I’m gonna award them all both awards! :) Do check them out!
Phew! That was a hard un! Hope you enjoy reading them as much as I do :) Thanks as always for reading honeys!

    Lotsa love
