NOTD - Abstract Watercolour Nail Art!

Hey there lovely readers!

Abstract nail art is probably the best kind of nail art there is...why? Because you can completely let loose & play around with different nail art techniques, be it brush strokes, dots, lines, anything you like to create a finished look that looks funky, unusual & totally unique! And the best thing is, no one would ever know if it didn't go according to plan! Just roll with it babes!

This abstract design that I have for you today is a Watercolour type of abstract & was inspired by the fabulous Maria of SoNailicious, who is an absolute QUEEN at the abstract look.

This look in particular is basically done using a combo of colours on the nail that have been blurred & blended in together to create an almost watercolor type effect using acetone. Add in a few dots & delicate pieces of golden foil & hey presto you have your abstract design!

I used all True Brit London polishes to create this look. I first started off with my base which is two coats of Victoria a really lovely nude creme, creating the perfect canvas for my nail art.

I then selected three True Brit London shades to "blur" on the nail. You can choose more or less :) I ended up using British Blue, a lovely baby blue, Coat of Arms, which is the lilac shade, & Seaside, a gorgeous vibrant coral.

Using the brush from the bottle, after wiping some of the excess on the bottle, otherwise you will risk flooding the whole nail, I simply added one drop of each color onto the nail.

Then grabbing my acetone, I saturated one of my brushes & then dripped on a few drops of acetone on to the polish, dabbing lightly as well & this makes the shades flood into one another creating that blurred effect!

I next grabbed some black polish & my dotting tool & added on some light dots in a random manner to each nail.

But now for the piece de resistance...a touch of gold! I picked up this amazing set of gold foils from Ali Express for the most ridic price...from my memory I think it was like 99p! As you can see you get a nice selection of different metallic foils.

Grabbing the gold of course & a pair of tweezers, I delicately removed the gold foil which is super delicate & fine, & tore up some random pieces of different sizes before sticking these on to the nail using a bit of clear polish. Finish it all with topcoat & you are done!

I think next time I'll try this watercolour style with lighter polishes to create a more washed out look? What do you think of abstract nails? Thanks for reading as always!

Lotsa love to ya!
