Afternoon Tea Adventures - The Savannah Bar and Restaurant

Hello there lovely readers!

Another day another Afternoon Tea adventure to share with you my lovelies!

Today's post is all about The Savannah Bar & restaurant in Euston Street whose afternoon tea I recently experienced whilst visiting a friend in London. I'm always on the lookout for new & intriguing Afternoon Teas to try & The Savannah caught my interest as not only did the tea itself look interesting but The Savannah is an eco-friendly restaurant with all its food ethically sourced from sustainable local suppliers & family run businesses which I love!

Once we had arrived at our destination which is just a short walk from the station we were directed upstairs to the restaurant & our table. The South African inspired decor of The Savannah is delightful, following in the same concept as their produce, the walls are tastefully decorated in earthy tones featuring works from local upcoming animators, film makers & artists.

We gave our tea choices to the waitress, green tea for my friend and good ol' English Breakfast for me which were brought out in cutesy little teapots with cup & saucer and not long after that out came our glorious Afternoon Tea itself which looked incredible served as it was on an alternative style yet fab looking 3 tiered wooden stand.

On the bottom most row we started with our savories which were made up of some rather interesting sandwich options. Included in the selection were smoked salmon & cream cheese on white buns, always a firm favorite with me! There was also a meaty beef, mustard and watercress on white bread as well as dill cucumber in a brown seeded bread roll for a vege option. The last offering was a horseradish egg mayonnaise brioche, which I'm still in mixed opinions about! The brioche bread was lovely but I did find the horseradish a bit overwhelming!

In the centre of our stand lay the the homemade plain and sultana scones dusted in sugar  and which were accompanied with clotted cream and organic apricot and strawberry jams served in pretty little shot glasses.

Finally along the top we had our sweets to sample & devour! The delights for this tea included white chocolate & blueberry macaroons which were DIVINE! I am a huge macaroon fan anyway but these such a unique flavor & top notch.

We were also served delightful poppy seed Madelines, a berry cone patisserie filled with cream, coconut & mango panacotta shot & lastly chocolate covered strawberries which were the most perfect little touch!

Overall my friend & I had a lovely time at The Savannah Bar, devouring the delights served as well as having our tea replenished when required. The Afternoon Tea here is priced at just £17 per person which I think is a fab price for such a stellar quality tea! Definitely recommend! Lotsa love to ya!
